Method of Crystal Bow degradation?

Could this scenario work? -

 

 

 

1. I finish Roving Elves, choose the Crystal Bow as my reward.

 

2. I degrade it down to a crystal seed.

 

3. I recharge the crystal seed into a New Crystal Bow at Ilfeen.

 

4. I buy another Crystal Bow.

 

5. After I shoot about 225-250 shots with a New Crystal Bow, I switch to my other New Crystal Bow.

 

6. One New Crystal Bow degrades into a 9/10 Crystal Bow.

 

7. I then switch back to my OTHER New Crystal Bow.

 

8. Repeat steps 5-7 until only one degrades into a crystal seed and then I recharge it and repeat.

 

 

 

This would be pretty effective as a training weapon as the New Crystal Bow has a +100 ranged bonus if it doesn't degrade. So essentially, I'll be training my ranged with the bow at full power and letting my other crystal bow take the degradation. The only problem with this is counting the shots might be irksome and you might over or undercount.

 

 

 

 

 

So it's pretty interesting (to me at least), so could anyone confirm that this method works?

This method does work, but it might be better to buy a second crystal seed from players. That way you can drive down the recharge cost faster. 250 shots takes exactly 10 minutes of continuous fire on rapid. Taking into account drops and respawns, switch the bows about every 11-13 minutes.

This method definitely works. i have 6 Crystal bows myself. I suggest finding the time it takes for the degrade instead of counting the shots cause it would prally drive you crazy. 201, 202, 20#? :ohnoes: Don't do it to yourself.

I use the counting method, and to aid mental stability, I count every fifth shot and do a kind of five bar gate thing when my target is killed. I find I can swap bows usually with ten shots of the degredation point doing this and it's pretty accurate if you don't mind tons of bits of paper lying around covered in little lines... :D
