Introduction:

This guide is for experienced players who already know how to get to Barrows. This is also my first guide so bear with me. I will show you how you can do Barrows without a single dose of prayer potion. With this set up, I am able to do 1-2 trips without leaving. I only drink 1 dose of super restore for the second Dharok. With better stats, you could probably do 5-6 trips without leaving.

Recommended Stats and Quests:

My stats:

stats.png

70+ ranged would be a definite advantage along with 60+ prayer.

Higher mage would also be a help and every defense and hits level is a great help.

The lowest stats that you can get by with are 50 prayer, 70 attack, 60 strength, 70 defense, 50 mage, 50 ranged, 55 slayer, 60 hits. The slayer dart is the spell to use and you need 50 range for the Magic Short bow. 70 attack and defense for the whip and Torags.

Quests: Priest in Peril (duh) Access to Moritania

In Search of̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ and In Aid of̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâæ Shortcut and Bank

Desert Treasure +50 con for Canifis portal in house OR

Fairy Tale II (partial) (fairy ring code DLS is in the shortcut)

Horror from the Deep for god books

Equipment:

equip.png

HEAD: Farseer helm > Split bark helm > Mystic hat

NECK: Fury > Glory > Unholy symbol

BACK: God cape > Fire cape > Obby cape

BACK: Rune arrows (p) > Addy arrows > Mith arrows

WEPON: Slayer staff

BODY: Torags top > Verac̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s top > Split bark

SHIELD: Zammy book > Guthix book > Mage book

LEGS: Verac̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢s > Torags >Splitbark

HANDS: RFD gloves > Mystic > Splitbark

RING: Wealth > Life > Recoil

FEET: Wizard > Climbing > Rune

INVENTORY:

4-5 sharks- high healing food for emergencies

10-15 monks- good food for fighting brothers

Magic Short Bow- perfect for quickly killing Ahrim

Super restore pot- just incase of and emergency

Telly Tab/Ectophial- quick escape if needed

Whip- melee for tunnels

Death and Minds- runes for slayer dart (duh)

Spade- for getting in to crypts (obviously)

Best d-hide you can use/Karils top- range bonus for killing Ahrim

The Crypts:

I strongly recommend doing the brothers in the following order.

Dharok, melee, (northeast crypt)

Take off you melee armor, put slayer dart on auto. Dig, search the crypt, turn on protect from melee and kill him. When the arrow over his head turns off, turn off your prayer and run out. If he is your tunnel brother, thank your luck stars and skip to Karil.

Darhork.png

Karil, ranger (southern Crypt)

Put on your melee armor, and set your slayer dart on auto. Dig and then search his crypt, and then turn on protect from range. If you have less than 60 prayer you will probably run out before he dies. Don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t worry! This happens to me every time, I just eat when I need to and I only use 2-3 monks on him. If you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t have any prayer don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t worry. However, if you got low defense you can drink a super defense pot and kill him easily. The reason Karil is so easy is that you are wearing Torags, the best melee and raged defense armor in the game! If he is your tunnel brother, skip to Ahrim.

Karil.png

Ahrim, the mage (center crypt)

Equip your d-hide body/Karils top and magic short bow. Set your bow to rapid and dig. Search the crypt and now if you have any prayer left now is the time to use it. I usually use about 5-6 monks on him on a bad day. Pay attention and if Ahrim lowers your defence skip Karil and go to Torag. If Ahrim is your tunnel brother, skip to Verac

Ahrim.png

Verac, melee, (northwestern Crypt)

Make sure your hp is at least 50 before you enter his crypt. Keep your melee armor on and mage him with slayer dart. He is fairly easy, his max hit is 22, but his accuracy is very low so he rarely hits. 3-4 monks should be enough for him. If Verack is your tunnel brother, skip to Torag.

Verack.png

Torag, melee (southwestern crypt)

You need to make sure that you have at least 40 hp before you go in to his crypt. Once again, keep your melee armor on and mage him with slayer dart. The most times he has ever hit me is 3. The hardest he has ever hit me was a 20. 1-2 monks should be enough for him. If he is your tunnel brother, skip to Guthan, the last and probably easiest brother.

ToragCrypt.png

Guthan, melee (southeastern crypt)

Make sure that you have at least 40 hp before you fight Guthan. Again, wear your melee armor and mage him to death with slayer dart. Why is Guthan the easiest? I thought Torag was easier. The answer is that Guthan uses a stab attack and Torag uses crush. Your stab defense is +232 and your crush defense is +221. Guthan doesn̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t hit very often and while his max hit is 23, he rarely hits over 11.

Guthan.png

The Tunnels:

Before you enter, the tunnels equip your whip so that you don̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t waste runes on the monsters down there. Here is a map of the tunnels:

BarrowsPrint2.png

A few notes about the tunnels. You will always enter in one of the corner rooms. Whenever you open a door a monster will spawn, this includes your tunnel brother. The room you enter will only have one door with the open option. There is only one chest door that will open for you.

Melee Brother in Tunnels

First, find out which corner room you are in. to do this find the door that will open and then orient your map to north. This should tell you which corner room you are in. now travel in a straight line until you reach the next corner room. Next, find the door which opens to the long side passageway. Now, walk through that door repeatedly until your brother spawns. Next run to one of the following safe spot depending on which side of the door you are on.

ToragwithSafespot1.png

This is an usual spot. There is an invisible ladder in this corner room (marked by the red X). This is because you will randomly enter in one of the 4 rooms and thus there is a ladder in each room. You can just only see one. However, these ladders still exist in the game and thus your brother cannot walk through them. These laders are located in the center of the room on the dark square.

BarrowsPrint21.png

Run to the far side of the plie of rocks along one side of the tunnel. The brother will try and walk straight at you and will get stuck. then you can kill him slowly.

Once you have your brother trapped, equip your slayer staff, turn slayer dart on auto and kill him.

Ahrim in Tunnels

Obviously, you can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t use a safe spot for him. Spawn him wherever you want just make sure that it is not in the chest room, as this will decrease your chance of an armor drop. Take off your Torags top and bottom, put on your d-hide/Karils top, equip your magic short bow, put it on rapid, and kill him, eating when necessary.

Karil in Tunnels

Obviously, you can̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢t use a safe spot for him. Spawn him wherever you want just make sure that it is not in the chest room, as this will decrease your chance of an armor drop. Keep your armor on, equip your slayer staff, and put slayer dart on auto, then mage him to death.

Now find that you have killed all 6 brothers you need to get your kill count a little higher. This only slightly increases your chances of getting an armor drop, but hey, every little bit helps. I try to have a kc of 12-13.

The Chest

Now find your chest door. When you find it, kill whatever is attacking you, and then click on the door. A puzzle will appear that you must solve to open the door. However, if you get it wrong the chest door will randomize again and you will have to find it again. If you are not sure of the answer, close the puzzle and click on the door again. This will give you a different puzzle. Once you get it right, you will see a message that the door has unlocked. Go through the door and search the chest for your reward.

Congratulations! You just did a complete barrows trip without using a single dose of prayer potion! You now have a choice if you have 5 or fewer pieces of food left, teleport out, bank, recharge your prayer and come back. However, if you used less than half of your food you con do another trip! Simply retrace your steps out of the chest room and back to the ladder where you came in. exit the crypt, walk over to Dahrok̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Å¾Ã¢ s crypt, enter it and mage him. However, this time leave your armor on. After you have hit him 2 or 3 time drink 1 does your super restore pot and turn on protect from melee. After Dharok, proceed to kill the other brothers as before.

This doesn't seem quite finished. It looks good so far though. I only saw one mistake - you saw to use mage prayer on Karil, it should be range.

Nice guide, I would say, still, bring a dose of P pot. You never know when something unpredictible is going to happen, and u need that invincibility. Also, for Karils, ALWAYS USE PRAYER. On my 75 def, full torags and fury, he hits byfar the hardest on me. Usualy, i don't run out of prayer though.

ALWAYS USE RING OF LIFE or seers ring. Wealth is useless at barrows.

Also, mention the safepots of each crypt, and mention the borthers special effects, and warnings. Good guide, nothing compared to osme of the more detailed ones out there though, 5/10

Thanks. I belive I have in there to bring a p pot. Also wealth does help. The reason I didn't put anything in about the brother's specials is that they are worthless. I mean come on, Karil lowers agility, Verac hits through prayer (I dont pray on him) guthan heals if he hits (he doesn't) Dharok hits harder with lower hp (I pray), and Torag takes run energy (big deal).I do how ever have in that Ahrim lowers str.

Karil is very stange in that sometimes he only hits a total of 40 on me and other times he hits about 100 hp on me lol

thanks for the input  keep it coming

Ahhh, a fellow guthixsian :)

Great guide, but i figure torags is a bit of a waste, i have almost tha same stats as you and a granate plate, t helm and rune leags is goot for me,

however I'm a poor noob (2 items, 50 runs) so torags is out of my reach

the reason I said to make sure that you have atleast 40hp when you fight Guthan is this: Guthan hits like :XD: The most damage he has ever done to me is 30 and that took 2 hits. If you have 40 hp then even if he hits his mak 22 you will still be good and you wont have wasted 3 monks getting your hp up to full. Thanks for the Input, keep it coming!

you should never be less than 1-2 pieces of food down from full health. would you rather eat a few monks or sharks or lose all your stuff. trust me, ive been doing barrows since level 78 and im now level 100. that was over a year ago I started. Only died twice due to lag at dharoks

 wow you did it at level 78?

Yes that is what I ment by 40hp ( mine is 70). and btw guthan has hit nothing on me for my last 3 or 4 runs. again, Thnaks for the input, keep it coming.

I am working on more pics now!
