Shading does NOT mean that you should take your initial linework and fill in with a handmade gradient. I'd say you are pretty clueless on how to make things looks 3d instead of flat-as-paper.

ok will do on my next sig :P

use quer skulls guide. that helped me out alot. keep pressing refresh if u can find my new siggeh. you improved oh he looks like hes acting out a monkey and smiling at the same time. nicely done.

Gradient style shading is NEVER good in pixels, the body is very stiff and doesnt look human, the sun is orange-red (ARMAGEDON!!!) and the sky is shaded away from the sun into a dark area? thats only possible with overcast sky's, the faces are almost square, and the bags have handles?

Fix all of this and it might look ok.

lol i tried quers tutorial and got lost and cfuzzeld myself

it just tells you that whatever parts are being exposed to the sun mostly should be shaded lighter, then just simple take a darker shade of that colour and simply just trace around the light colour then after the shade is done take a darker shade of that colour and fill in the rest. it helped me out a bit.

Yeah as in you start with the lightest area and work your way to the darkest. but usually with 4 or 3 line shading you dont worry about that, however line by line shading makes it look more 3d ish.

i use 3 shades...

Yeah but see the thing is, is that when you put a thin strip of 2 shades on either side of the armour, it makes the middle seem elevated instead of shaded. Gradient style shading is NOT the answer here, just curve with the armour and focus on the darkest and lightest point, MAKE SURE THEY ARE CLOSE SHADES TO EACH OTHER.
