However upon looking around i discovered there is nothing near as protective as barrows platebody, so i decided to keep a barrows plate and mix and match the rest. Please let me know what you think. Gear will be used to train strength and slayer. Money shouldn't be a problem so recommend away. rft Posted October 8, 2007 Share Posted October 8, 2007 well my setup is similar for melee training. It depends a lot on whether you have full guthans for training, or if you need to rely on food. If you use food only, then you want your highest defence bonus, so I think that what you have is pretty solid. If you have guthans, then you can afford to not have the highest def bonus and use things like defenders etc. here is my setup: Helmet - Black mask Amulet - Amulet of Glory Body - Granite Plate Legs - Dragon legs Boots - Dragon boots Gloves - Barrows Gloves from RFD Ring - Wealth Cape - Quest Weapon - Dragon scimitar Shield - Rune defender With guthans in inv to heal. High def helps (92 at the mo) as you dont get hit as often. This also means that you do not have to repair your barrows armour as often. I'd definitely recommend getting barrows gloves (or as good as you can from RFD) as they have awesome bonuses for all 3 combat styles. Best Barrows Chest: guth skirt, dh helm, dh axe, racks, gp (23/08/06); best tt reward: robin, guthix helm, guthix legs, nats, rune legs Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Amulet - Amulet of strength - Fury or Glory Body - Guthan's platebody Guthans let you stay at taks for a while, keep. Legs - Dragon plateskirt Guthans skirt. Boots - Dragon boots best boots on offer currently, keep Gloves - Combat bracelet(4) Barrows gloves from the RFD quest. Ring - Nothing Ring of Wealth/Life Cape - Obsidian cape Acheivement cape, trimmed if poss. If not I think obby is best. Weapon - Dragon scimitar this is the best stregth training weapon. Use whip for defense and attack Shield - Rune defender Keep where possible. Have Guthans spear and helm in ya inven. When you run low on health (i use midway) Guthans to full health. Obviously this wont work for all tasks but will for most. Get an armour stand in your house for cheaper repairs. I repair mine when my plate and skirt get to 25% and it costs me about 150k. Note:i buy and sell guthans alot because of the price changing, so sometimes i have it, sometimes i don't. For this however, i will not include it. The first item is what i will usally wear, and second is something that i will sometimes have due to selling to avoid money loss (when price drops). I also wear obby cape, dragon boots, dragonstone ammy, ring, and braclet.
