A survey on "gender discrimination" in the job market.

Featured Replies

Hi, I am doing a survey on "gender discrimination" and thought I could get the views of the community here. This survey is for my "Inequalities in society" class.

What country are you from?

Do you think that "gender discrimination" is widespread depending on the job that the person is applying for?

Why do you think that is?

Do you think that the current laws in place in your country are effective in preventing "gender discrimination" in the job market?

If the current laws are not effective should there be laws put in place that are "tougher" than the ones already in place in order to crack down on employers that do this type of discrimination on a regular

basis?

If you do not think that "tougher" laws would be effective do you think sending a message to the employer by boycotting their establishment would be more effective?

I look forward to reading all the replies.

That's a pretty weird survey that isn't going to get you many accurate results, no offence. Unless you're just looking for common weaknesses/strengths to discuss?

Are they set questions or did you come up with them?

These are all qualitative questions. It will be a very poor survey to analyse. A waste of time.

If you truly think it is a waste of time, why did you even bother posting in this thread?

Another thing is that most surveys are based on these sort of questions so in order to find contradictions.

That is why I am asking the questions despite what ever results I may get.

I really just want others views on the matter based on those questions.

Yes, I did come up with the questions and yes they are set.

I wasn't aware the question results didn't matter because any surveys I had to do in university were a lot more complex than that. That's fair enough then I'll answer them for you in the morning.

If the results did matter I was only going to help you make it more academic, if you wanted the help.
