because what makes a collectors edition car is the fact that all the numbers match .

 

 

 

 

 

the VIN obviously wont match if you rip the engine block out of the car. #-o

 

 

 

yeah. but dropping somethign els doesnt make the car worthless. just means that it isnt quite as rare.

 

 

 

i might decide to keep the 4.9 in but probly not. ill just have to rebuild it

So you buy a heap of junk because of it's rarity, and you aren't even going to restore it to the original specs? /boggle

 

 

 

I understand restoring cars just fine (grew up around it), but the whole thing just doesn't make sense to me, especially the 1980 part...what a bad year for the firebird :lol:

I would have picked that up in a heartbeat too. Most people are probably looking at that thinking "Wow that looks like crap" or "Too much work, don't buy it". But bro, fix that beast up and send me picks. I think that thing has a lot of potential and I can assure you it'll be a blast to drive. My dream car list includes an '80 Trans Am (which is part of the Firebird family) so I'd love to see that up and running like new. Good luck, bro! :thumbsup:
