Fred_Phred
Is there a guide for ranging Irons? Just got it as a slayer task for the first time and never tested them. Not sure if its even a good idea but I'm level 83 range and wanted to get some thoughts on it if there is no guide. I've meleed the bronze dragons but would rather see if there is a ranging option for the irons. Any suggestions appreciated!
Assassin1357
ill post setup archer helm or robin if u have glory or fury accumulator black d hide or karils, whichever you have snakeskin boots or ranger boots if you have wealth or a archer ring barrows gloves, if not black d hide. zammy book rune c'bow with mith bolts, you can also use (e) ones to help kill a bit faster. just use a dose of antifire potion which last for about 5 minutes then kill about 2. redose once wears off dose again and keep killing. take about 20 and you can stay there for over an hour

Maybe around 10-12 is good enough. However, ull get a lot of addy and rune drops there, so bring nats and a fire staff to high alch also. ~Ddaanniiellh : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube! mchainmail
If you read the maging guides, the technique is very similar.
Codguy
Replace zammy book with antidragon fire shield and you're good. 20 Antifire pots are ok, as long as you have some fires and nats to alch things. Pots last more like 6 minutes, and you can kill 3 or 4 dragons in that time. Use enchanted emerald tipped bolts until the dragon is poisoned, then switch to regular mith bolts. Goes really fast. For a single task of irons (40-60) you will need maybe 6 pots? I always take extra just in case.

Fred_Phred
was going to burthorpe 'em but decided why not give it a shot at least once.
decebal
Just tell me if it's worth it (e.g. getting a dragon drop). If yes, still do them during slayer, if not, burthope is gonna be your home. Or you can put it this way... If you get the Dragon Drop, then you have less of a chance of getting another one in some time. Something I can tell you to bring: Ring of Wealth: controversial, but if it works, then you can get a dragon plate legs/skirt drop faster, paying for the drops. Fred_Phred
Ok, here's my after action report. 39 Iron dragons. Loot: about 5k gp addy battleaxe 3 rune limbs 40 rune javelins addy axe 9 rune darts (p) 5 rune knives addy square 6 soul runes 105 bloods Used: 4 1/2 four dose anti-fire pots (accidently wasted 2 doses though thanks to laptop touch pad) - bought for 3k ea. about 400 mith bolts (these I actually picked up when someone died killing blues) 2 sharks (one a victim of my laptop as well) Conclusions: Overall, once I alch/sell the loot I'd make a profit but nothing to write home about. If I did it again, I'd definitely use better bolts to help speed it up - too many blue splashes and takes forever. It was a change of pace at least! Not sure whether I'll Burthorpe them or not next time.
