Avast Antivirus Question

I just downloaded avast antivirus home edition (its free) from some website like download.com, the only problem is that the file size and version are a little different on my setup than what the website i downloaded it from said, and it seems as if a few other things might be kinda off like that, so i feel like i didn't get the real thing.

 

Is there any way to validate my avast antivirus home edition to make sure that it's the "real deal"?

If it came from download.com, chances are that you have "the real deal"

When in doubt, use the creator's website. Download.com is generally safe for most software so I wouldn't be too worried about it if the file size is mis-listed by a kilobyte or 2, they may be rounding the file size when they list it on the site..

It could be that they are an update befind - some AV's have an unstaller that is always kept updated, others just use a major version and require immediate updating before use.

i have avast on my computer, it runs fine. Just go to THEIR homepage instead of download.com and it will work 100% fine
