April 15, 200521 yr So... instead i'll choose the hidden option number 3. Guild wars :) And be restricted to walking along set paths, and have to buy the expansions near constantly. Just think about it - it can't work: 1. For them to keep the servers up and running, they'll need to sell more boxes 2. When they sell more boxes they get more players 3. To support the extra players they have to sell more boxes 4. Goto 1 See? How can it be profitable? Where do you think the monthly fees go? It's either going to be VERY crowded and unstable, or no updates. They won't be able to muster the funds.
April 16, 200521 yr lol i would venture a guess that wow has the largest fan base of any game to date. MMORPGs cut out a giant portion of the audience just with their genre. It doesn't appeal to a lot of people for many reasons. You're extremely wrong, and (for me anyway) have lost any respect I have for your opinion, since you sound 99.9% like a fanboy. i misspoke by saying fan base, what i meant to say was the number of players. definitely not a fan boy.. dont own the game but judging from the number of servers running at any given point (90+) i highly doubt that im wrong. (600,000 subscribers 6 weeks after game released, .002% of usa) any reason why you are so rude? :P
April 16, 200521 yr I like EQ2, played both. The graphics are supurb. The environments make it look beautiful. You may find yourself walking around just to check out the environments. The community is mainly composed of mature adults. It's not too big, but it has well over enough players for me. Thats about all. Yes, on WOW I have been called a newb numerous times. Killing a few thistle boars and people come up, steal my bronze, call me a newb etc.. Although I do like jumping in WOW.. :o
