November 6, 200718 yr Ron Paul, a seemingly longshot candidate for the republican (but more libertarian) nomination, has raised over 3 million dollars in less than 24 hours, setting a new record. He is currently in 4th place for fundraising, behind Rudy, Romney, and Thompson. Watch it pile up at: http://www.ronpaul2008.com for more info about Ron Paul I would recommend this video as a starting place:

November 6, 200718 yr my big brother made a ron paul video, ron paul as superman "If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel AdamsMy new site. [bETA]

November 6, 200718 yr I thought this was off-topic, not the "let's post the news here" topic... There's not really anywhere else he can post it... a "news" isn't automatically a piece of plagued filth, it tells the world what happened. Yes, believe it or not, news aren't made up so you can read random stuff. They report unusual events that have recently happened. Anyways, I find it highly improbable for Paul to be elected as president  But if his supporters are devoted... Who knows. Money is really the only obstacle between any average person vs the presidency. You don't get elected by your merits, you get elected by how, when, where you market yourself.
November 6, 200718 yr As I don't live in America, i don't particularly mind who is president unless it is Bush hehe, but 3 million in 1 day is awesome :). Was he the guy who wasn't allowed in the youtube debates and instead made his own version by getting the video from the old debate and pausing it to show what he would say? November 6, 200718 yr it doesn't really matter because he's too liberal to make the republican party nominate him, but if he does happen to win the primaries, he will be our next president by a landslide. and iraq will just collapse in on itself and be wiped from the earth. :boohoo:
November 6, 200718 yr You make it sound like he has a shot in hell of getting nomination. He may be popular in internet polls but that's it.
November 6, 200718 yr He has something like 1% support of the average American. Outside the Internet no one knows about him.
November 6, 200718 yr I thought he was good until I saw he wants everybody to be homeschooled.. seriously that is one of the most ridiculous ideas I have ever heard in my entire life. There is no way that it would work without the coming generations being complete idiots either because of their parents' educating them (have you seen some of the nutjobs in this country?) or because they won't even get homeschooled. There are a good number of single parents you know... if they were to stay at home and homeschool they would not be able to hold a job, which would make them go on welfare, which is against small government, and in the end old man Paul comes out ot be an idiot and his loving fans either uninformed or idiots. =; Runescaper (off and on) since late 2001

November 6, 200718 yr Author As I don't live in America, i don't particularly mind who is president unless it is Bush hehe, but 3 million in 1 day is awesome :). Was he the guy who wasn't allowed in the youtube debates and instead made his own version by getting the video from the old debate and pausing it to show what he would say? that was mike gravel, he's a lot like Ron Paul in that he is all anti-executive branch and anti-war, but Paul is more of a libertarian. and Paul actually has a chance of winning. I bet Gravel will drop out within a few months. You make it sound like he has a shot in hell of getting nomination. He may be popular in internet polls but that's it. nope, he has a very good chance of winning. Its just that the media (controlled by the military industrial complex) is trying to hush all this up. Really though, he has won more straw polls than any other candidate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Straw_poll ... on%2C_2008 this is for real, but you won't see it on your television. That is why this is truly a revolution. I thought he was good until I saw he wants everybody to be homeschooled.. seriously that is one of the most ridiculous ideas I have ever heard in my entire life. There is no way that it would work without the coming generations being complete idiots either because of their parents' educating them (have you seen some of the nutjobs in this country?) or because they won't even get homeschooled. Speak to the hand here is Paul's official view on homeschooling: http://www.ronpaul2008.com/issues/home-schooling/ I don't think he is going to enforce that everyone be homeschooled, but rather he is trying to encourage homeschooling and keep the government out of the affairs of those who choose to be homeschooled. So that way they don't have to adhere to the same standards as the public school system. This makes since too because I mean the reason one would be homeschooled would be because of dissatisfaction with the school system, so why should they still have to follow the government's rules for the school system?
