It's a poster I made as a birthday present for my dad, my first big piece. Some of the quality has been lost due to resizing it from the +100 mb .psd, but the general idea is there. It's mostly a combination of tutorials, experimentation and patience, it's about six hours of work in all.

the planets lighting doesnt go with the image :S u shuld remove the outer halo

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Yeah, the planet is way too flat. Looks like it was just pasted on there.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

some other things that bring this piece way down:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- Nebulas are WAY over saturated. To the point where they nearly hurt your eyes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- The rest of the scene has no color, no life.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

-There are too many stars. WAY too many. and your erasing is blatently obvious. Heres a tip, ontop of your star layer make a cloud filter (white/black) and then set to multiply :wink:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

- The composition overall is sort of odd.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anyways, you have alot of stuff you need to work on. you have the basics, very basics, but its quite weird.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

and the outer glow on the planet, remove it or change its color.
