Why do people insist on having different colour skins for their people, i see people with green and yellow skins in sigs, this aint the Simpsons people. Now purple -.-

TY but like maxiee said i ment it to be normal skin colour i guess a bit pinkish but definatly not purple and what do you suggest for the background?

also, a wee bit more c/c, go buy like a fashion magazine and study the poses and anatomy of people. I remember working a bit on anatomy, it didn't turn out great, but helped. His head doesn't fit along with the body much...moe the pose of the head. Looks like and Exorcist movie, his head spinning around. Fix the head, skin colour, and maybe the torso anatomy.

Frankly, my friend, your drawing is terrible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The first step to a good pixel art is good line work. If your line drawings do not look good, dont even think about coloring them. While you line art is actually better than some other stuff I see (sad, isnt it?), you really need to work on that first. Then you can worry about coloring and shading.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I suggest buying yourself a sketchbook and a case of pencils. Starting with the basics really helps. Im being nice to you because I think there is actually hope for you.

If you can, try and draw something in real life, and scan it in. Go over the lines, clean them up a bit, and then start your shading.

Decent skin colors are hard to find.. Alot of people can't find a realistic / nice one.

well yes i guess it is a bit more of a drawing, ive been trying to find a place or person to help me learn how to make them but so far ive been unsucsesful. I did draw it out first but i do not have a scanner which is the main problem so i have to first of all work on my paint skill. I know its not great but I thought it was ok for my second(compared to some) so I thought i mightas well get a rating out of ten or some tips TY all for your info.

I dont know how to do this, but I've seen it so I know it can be done--you should use them both and make it so they alternate, like animation. It would look like hes moving his head back and forth. Try scrolling up and down over that image in the thread, it does it when one replaces the other quickly.

See what I mean, just try make the proportions look right, if your tryin to make it look more human that is.. Try some manga tutorial sites like http://www.polykarbon.com they usually show some good advice to make porportions right.

The perspective is a little off, also. Try making the "camera angle" a little higher, so that it doesn't look like it is even with the horizon.

I didn't sugar coat anything really, told him he needed real anatomy, and some better lineart. Anyways, Mitch Hedberg was my comical hero ;(
