eggzs
Hi all, I currently have a PS2 model SCPH-70002 (slimline) that i got for christmas a few years ago, however, a few weeks ago, it stopped working properly, heres the details: when it is turned on, it can read the memory card, access menus etc. , however when you insert a disc and close the "lid" the laser trays moves about but the disc doesnt spin, is it a laser problem that it wont read the disc or is there something wronf with the motor that makes the disc spin or other? All help is appreciated, thanks.

RpgGamer
My CD player has the same problem, you can put cd's in it, but they don't spin. I think it has something to do with the mechanism that spins the disks...course it wouldn't help to fix the lens while your at it Quote Quote Anyone who likes tacos is incapable of logic. limpbizkit
Probably cheaper now to buy a new one than repair tbh. Tif 360 MGC Leaderboard
adam_ross0
Honestly, I'd just go buy a new one. You can get the original (Big) PS2s for about $80 at EB Games or Gamestop...probably cheaper at a more local store around you. Repair would probably cost more anyways.
