Can you like send the songs from your ipod to your pc?

Then you could do the erase thing but you would get the new songs + your old ones.

There's an easier way.

First off, you have to realize that you can put songs on an iPod in two different formats: ones that you can play back on the iPod, and data files, which can't be played on your iPod, but can be transfered just like you'd use a thumb drive. To transfer songs, first:

1. Open to My Computer with your iPod plugged in.

2. Open your iPod folder (one of the hard drives in My Computer).

3. Find the folder your songs from iTunes are stored in (if you can't find one, simply create a new folder on the desktop, and drag and drop the files from iTunes into that folder).

4. Drag and drop that folder into the open iPod folder (the one you found on My Computer).

5. Unplug your iPod.

6. Plug your iPod into your new computer.

7. Find the iPod folder in My Computer.

8. Drag and drop the music folder out of your iPod folder onto the desktop.

9. Open iTunes.

10. Click File>Add Folder to Library

11. Add the music folder to your new computer's iTunes library.

12. Sync the new songs to your iPod.

Hope this helps you out a little.

^ How's that easier than downloading a program and then click+drag?

Well, it's not easier, but you don't have to download anything, which can be a problem for some people (I know my computer used to be so overloaded with stuff it could hardly move). Also, some people just don't trust online downloads.

Anyways, it's not as hard as it looks, I broke the steps down into the smallest chunks I could. It just looks long, half the steps are just opening certain folders. =D

EDIT: My method's more useful, too - you can transfer anything you want, not just songs, as long as it fits on your iPod.

Awesome :D.

I've been looking for something like this for a bit now (that didn't only do a few songs or something stupid like that) so I'm glad to have found one now.

Been meaning to get some of the older songs on my iPod that didn't make it over to my new PC onto it. \:D/

1) It's not a competition

2) If you wanted it to act like a hardrive, you should have just got a Zen.
