Well, as I predicted, I was right about Jagex removing the wilderness in these updates (see my other thread). To be honest, I thought Jagex would have better justifications for their actions in the development diary than they did...

Is it me, or does it also seem like Jagex is using summoning as an excuse for all of this...

Or in other words, everytime jagex will mention something bad, they'll remind us how lucky we are to be getting summoning in january, but this is the first update that I'm finally not on Jagex's side...

I think that they mentioned summoning as early as they did to keep most of their players paying. They got everyone all excited and hyped up, and this week they have almost totally killed the buzz of the excitment

"Above all, we're a games company. We don't want to spend all our time and energy fighting gold-sellers and bots, we want to get on with making the game," says Andrew. Despite having to make this change, 2007 has seen some awesome updates ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ Impetuous Impulses, dark bow, dragonfire shield, God Wars Dungeon, Clan Chat, Grand Exchange ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ but now we're able to focus more on new content, 2008 is shaping up to be our best year yet! We're not waiting long to kick it all off, either, with the release of the Summoning skill in January. And wait until you see some of the other things we've got planned ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ã¢ââ¬Ãâ it's far too early to reveal anything, but we're very, very excited about them.

What do you think?

With or without the summoning update I'm still paying. These updates may or may not be in the best interest for you, but they were necessary for the game itself.

Summoning was released to cover their butts. I hope it's a great skill for everyone who keeps playing.

they can always get banned!

If you do things right people won't be sure you've done anything at all.

Yup, Same thoughts here, and I actually like the wild update, but feel bad for the people that hate it, they just cut out a huge part of runescape. But the trading aspect of the update sucks, hard.
