December 12, 200718 yr I started today with a meager 600k in my bank account. A lonely, snivelling little level 3 pure merchant, I visited Bounty Hunters on the off chance that I might snag one or two good deals on some armor that I had bought previously... I soon discovered that the game had generated massive demand for weapons that were, due to general incompetence and laziness, in very short supply. GE Price on a Rune Scim: 19.5k GE Price on Maple Shortbow: 230 GE Price on Lobster: 201 GE Price on Amulet of Strength: 1.1k GE Price on Adamant Arrow: 120-130 Prices at Bounty Hunters: Adamant Arrow: 130-150 Gold Lobster: 220-250 Gold Short: 400-10k Gold Amulet of Strength: 2k-3k Gold Rune Scimitar: 20k-25k Gold Pwning everyone dumb enough to play Bounty Hunters without joining a clan while simultaneously generating massive profits before merchanting goes extinct? Priceless. This isn't so much a gloat as it is an opportunity to discuss the new, exploitable market that Bounty Hunters has created. Take advantage of the bubble while you can, guys! Still enjoying RuneScape?
December 12, 200718 yr Merchanting won't go extinct though. You'll have to adapt again to the GE prices, and how it works, but it's still possible to make a profit as long as prices can vary.
December 12, 200718 yr This happens with pretty much any update. The rich, high end players pay more to get what they need now. Why wait? Waiting is for noobs. [/sarcasm] 269 QP | All Stats 60+ (except Summoning) | Barrows Drops: 8 | Dragon Drops: 1

December 12, 200718 yr merchanting is just going to evolve into a stock market game. You will buy items that you think will increase in demand due to an update or something, you will hold it, wait a week or 2 for the price to go up (prices are updated daily due to supply and demand) you'll sell it for that increased price. This is how I always thought merchanting should have been in the first place.

NP has a very open market and yet its economy is actually very stable. There's not much merchanting or investing there either, besides the VERY low return "stock market" and HTS buyers [/bads]
