Lets_3ekout
Hey, having sold my berserker necky in expectation of a drop (There are people selling 1.5M lower then what I paid for mine, when what I paid was fair) I've got roughly 3M on my hands to play around with so I'm deciding to level my sadly low con level (52). I was thinking of buying oak logs and cutting them, I counted that those two steps would cost me 275k per 1k logs I get, but what I need to know is how many planks my demon butler can get out of bank for me before he wants pay. That'd be a HUGE help if someone could answer :) Secondly, do you think it's worth burning 3M to get my con level from 52 to roughly to 67? I do want to get my total up, but is it worth it other then for that? No one ever really comes to my house so it's not so great for the showing off factor, maybe once in a month or something when a friend wants to check something out (or something :P ). I've prioritised my slayer gear and have all I need for slayer (which is basicly 95% of what I do nowadays). Also, don't advice limestone because I've tried it and I can't stand how slow the levelling is :P To sum up: How many logs can a butler get for you before you pay him? Is it worth spending ~3M getting con from 52-67? (It may go higher then 67 dependant on first question. That calculation was made assuming I can afford 8K oak logs, cut them myself and have enough for butler without going over the 3M mark). Freesia
To your first question: I believe it's around 10 trips, you might want to do a test run and post the results. :P You should do oak larders, plank your own logs and carry noted planks on you so you will use your servant to help you unote. For this reason I'll suggest using a cook, cheap and can carry the amount of planks needed for 2 oak larders, extra 4 things butler can carry is not really necessary, so save the butler for oak doors. Strangely with WotLK so near, I wished I could delay it a bit to push through that last TBC content in MH/BT :'(.
Lets_3ekout
Looked in the Tip.It guide a bit more and found the table with the servants, assuming correct it should be pretty usefull. The cook costs 23.4 GP per "item" (I always thought it was counted per trip?) but takes 20 secs to get back, that's an awful amount of time for two larders :| But I think I will get rid of my demon butler for the normal butler, which seems to be pretty cheap (31.3 per item), does his trips in twice the time (10 secs) and carries 2.5 larders worth of items (assuming they're 8 planks?). Chumley
Not sure what you mean when you say cut the oak logs. Do you mean plank? If you want a faster but more expensive way, use your butler to unnote the oak loags and then take them to the sawmill. To save money, you could plank them yourself, the quickest way would be using the Castle Wars balloon in combination with dualling rings. I would aim for 69 instead of 67, with a crystal saw and tea that will boost you to 75, which means guilded alter time. Invaluable to train your prayer on. Oh, and I would always use a demon butler over the cook. That's just my twopenneth worth.

"Planking a log" doesn't sound right for some reason, might just be me, but yeah that's what I meant :P Completely forgot about the CW method, read about but just to check, I need a normal log for every trip or something like that, right? (rings aren't a problem) Very interesting with the gilded altar, I may just go for it :P Turns out that at 31.3 GP per item when using a butler my cost per plank is 306.3, meaning I can use nearly 9.8K planks. Just put that in a calc and it turns out that's turn out to be exactly 69 :P (Can't wait for his gilded altar 8-) ). Chumley
Yeah you need a normal log per trip, you also need a tinderbox so you can plank 26 logs at a time.
