Fire attacks

Featured Replies

I have come up with another idea...

Fire damage,

When you stand on fires you take damage as if the fire was attacking with the speed of a scimitar and with attack and strenght rating equal to half of the firemaking level of the pyroman

(this prevents people from annoying fish cooks)

You can also magically create a fire as a magic spell which costs 1 body rune and 5 fire runes and the fire's attack and strenght is now equal to the caster's magic level (can be used at all levels)

You can voluntary remove some magic levels which power this spell, any gear carried that modifies your magic level also modifies tthe power of the fire

The fire takes some seconds to burn at full power (so as normal made fires) and takes a few seconds to be at lethal temperature

The fire has hitpoints equal to half the maker's firemaking level or equal to the caster's magic level, you can only deal damage to the fire with air, water or earth spells,

To hit with a spell you must make an normal attack (the fire's defense is equal to half the firemaker's firemaking level or equal to the caster's magic level) if you hit, you deal normal damage with air and earth spells, as attacking creatures, double damage with water spells (as you've cast two spells of that kind in one)

(air blows out the fire, water cools the fire and covers it from oxygen, earth covers the fire from oxygen)

Also a container filled with liquid can damage the fire if poured upon the fire (at 1 space reach) to hit with a liquid you must make a normal attack (the fire's defense is equal to half the firemaker's firemaking level or equal to the caster's magic level),

If you hit, you deal 0-30 damage with any container of liquid (even potions)

Fire spells at the other hand regenerate a fire, or even give extra hitpoints (which are restored back over time) fire spells do automatically damage to the fire and that amount is added to the fire's hitpoints instead of subtracted, for example a fire strike spell normally does 0-8 damage when succesfully hit, because the fire cannot use defense against the fire spell, it enhances (when he would normally damages) 0-8 hitpoints to the fire

Any feedback?

The fire spell isn't a bad idea, but I really think that the damage idea is not very thought out. What if a lvl 99 firemaker comes to lumbridge and begins training? All noobs will die in like 5 mins.

Apart from that I think it would annoy cooks even more if people just waltzed up and put out their fires all the time...

Whoops, didnt thaught of that one,

Maybe if the possibility of putting the fire out by pouring liquid on it is removed, and the spells dont give experience when cast on a fire, the people wont annoy anymore, because it cost them magic experience

And if that isn't enough, maybe the extenguish option needs to be removed at all, so that only damage by walking in it, enhance the fire by magic spells, and the magical fire stays (the fire loses every 5 seconds 2 hitpoints automatically)

NO,NO,NO and NO,Ive heard countless posts of the same idea and even though i think its a pretty good idea ,think about it this way:you have saved up for all you're runescape duration and have finally gotted something of great value(phat, mask, full gilded, full dragon ect)lets say you're fishing in somewhere like karamja generally most people dont look at their screen when theyre doing something as mediocre as fishing and while were thinking about these situations lets say around 5 people notice your hat, mask whatever and decide to burn a fire underneath you the average of these peoples magic level is around 40 so thats 40 attack and str ,40 multiplied by 5 is 200,and since you're not noticing BANG youre dead, imagine that eh.You spend 6-7 months saving up for something and its gone in a matter of seconds.Of course theres a ton of factors here and im guessng this probably wont happen that much and people could simply stop wearing their rares but then there would be no point buying them.

Anywaysi know that a lot of that probably doesnt make a lot of sense, but try and think about it anyways

there is a solution, it is impossible to start fires at some plants, where men could normally walk, so it should be impossible to start a fire under someone's feet

Yeah, Nahdrav has a great point, I wouldn't want to be killed by people why performing a boring task like that.

Also, then calns would start making tons of fires around people to kill them (surround them in fire.)

However, this would be a good idea, something to do with your firemaking level.

if somebody were 99 firemakign theyd do 50 damage and if they made fires everywhere................ Badly thought out.

Yes I am a girl. No, I won't be your girlfriend.

then the power of the fires would have to be decreased, by the way somebody with level 99 firemaking can only make a fire with 50 attack and strenght and defence and hitpoints, so he cant hit 50 at all,

maybe the levels of the fire would have to be one quarter of your firemaking level, and one quarter of your magic level

You can't light fires on paths, so you can walk in and out cities freely, the attack, defense, strenght and hitpoints of the fire are 1/2 their makers firemaking or magic level, that costs 1 body rune + 3 fire runes for normal logs, 4 for oaks, 5 for willows, 6 for maples, 7 for yews and 8 for magic logs (or 1/2 mana invested are the combat stats), fire attacks every 3 seconds, fires attack multiple (not affected by whether the zone is multi-combat or not) the fire can be put out by the maker in the first 30 seconds, the rest of the people can put out the fire after the 30 seconds, earth and wind magic decreases the hitpoints of the fire, fire magic increases the hitpoints of the fire, water does doubloe damage to fire, containers filled with liquid do up to 30 damage, every x seconds the fire takes 1 damage, when it hits 0 hitpoints, it is out, the fire is starting to do damage after 3 seconds the fire has been created

Normal fires lose every 1,5 seconds one hitpoint

Oak fires lose every 1,75 seconds one hitpoint

Willow fires lose every 2 seconds one hitpoint

Maple fires lose every 2,25 seconds one hitpoint

Yew fires lose every 2,5 seconds one hitpoint

Magic fires lose every 2,75 seconds one hitpoint

Magically created fires lose every 3 seconds one hitpoint

Imagine a group of people, setting lumbridge on fire, not a pretty sight...But maybe this could be introduced with PoH, lol, house burns down!

Okay, maybe not....

RSN: Mutashi

im thinking something simpler.. rather than fires dealing damage how about...

whilst standing on a fire you cant do anything, cant talk, cant use items etc etc all you can do is walk off the fire. and maybe if your in the fire for more than 5 seconds you automatically walk off it??

also you could not make a fire where someone else is already standing.. this would prevent people from being cabbage heads and annoying people by lighting fires.

That's a better idea, because honestly if fire actually dealt damage it'd be a pain in the [wagon]. Imagine people lighting massive fires, to keep a mining spot to themselves or to kill newbies. Yes it'd be be more realistic but people can abuse it all to easily.

yes, hot fires aren't suited for this society

but I find it very stupid that when you are on a fire and use a fish with the fire you put your hands in the ground, you should walk off the fire, turn around and start cooking when you use fish with fires

yea i just dont like the idea, nad has a good point

i dont really enjoy the fire making damaged idea.....then all of us just burn runescape, burn banks lol....nah its not gonna work out =p

I believe you can't light fires inside buildings anymore

But the idea isn't suited for RS I think

what would be the point of fire doing damage anyway...all it would do is cause problems...
