Ubermager716
When I first joined members I thought the same thing that you are thinking, but really, there isn't to much in f2p you can do to prepare for members, OT: As others have said, I would get sapphire necklaces, emerald rings..to be on the safe side, 100 of each? I use about that many per month. Laws, your definitely going to want quite a bit of these. In p2p you fly through laws like a hot knife through butter. I would get all your f2p quests done. When you first start, your going to want to finish fishing contest, wolfs whistle, druid ritual, etc..the quests that get you started. Aside from that, if I were you I would just get members and have fun with it! Explore the new world and see what there is to say. Don't kill the fun of it before it starts. [ -Barrows Drops- 1 Dharok's Helm,1 Ahrim's Robetop,1 Torag's Hammers, 1 Dragon Med -GWD Drops- 1 Shard -DK Drops- 7 Dragon Axes, 7 Berserker Rings, 7 Warrior Rings, 2 Archer Rings, 1 Dragon Med
mister_moocky
Because everything is more effecient in members, there isn't a point in delaying it, unless that $5 is worth hours of slower training a month to you. quit
SportsGuy
I thought it was clear that I AM a member. I thought the preparing was useful...it allowed me to breeze through a bunch of quests that opened up more of the world...which helps train the higher level skills. witchylucy
I wish I had my magic and prayer points up before I became p2p. If you have a high level of magic you will be able to teleport over to ardougne after a couple of easy quests and it will save you a lot of time walking. For prayer points, bury every single bone you get when you kill anything. Pick up any bones you find and bury them. There is a temptation when you are fighting to just leave them there on the ground. You will need good prayer points when you come across some of the nastier beasties during quests. Take advantage of any opportunity to boost those prayer points as they take a long time to level up. Try and get your Lumbridge achievement diary completed before you become p2p too. The cabbage teleport is a godsend if you do not have enough magic to teleport to falador. It also comes in handy if you run out of runes. I also wasted a lot of time finishing off my f2p quests and wish I had completed them first (except dragon slayer - still to do that) so I had more time to develop my members skills. Georgelemmons
How much money do you have? -Keep in mind that for the attack potions, you'll probably need to buy guam, or farm a lot of it, because it would take forever to get from drops. Currently at market price, 500 grimy guam would be about 250k. -Also, if you value speed, don't gather planks at respawn points. It's 2.8k to take an entire load of logs and turn them into planks, and one trip takes under a minute. -For fletching, gather logs, bars, and 15 feathers for each log (when cut up, a log makes 15 arrowshafts that you will need to fletch. - Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <
bigmad
Seriously, no one of you noticed that he asked his question a year ago and have been member for quite a while already?

SportsGuy
Seriously, no one of you noticed that he asked his question a year ago and have been member for quite a while already? Ha ha ha! Actually, this post might help explain the benefits to some newer players (F2P) that are thinking about becoming a member. LOL...asked the question a year ago! witchylucy
Just to add to my above post on prayer, once you become a member, and if you have enough gold, you can purchase dragon bones (or slay and save up) and burn them on a gilded alter with incense burners. To get access to a Gilded Alter with incense burners, if you search RSOF for gilded Alter, players who have them quite often open them up for others to use. Usually they will ask you to bring clean marrentils (herbs) to burn and some are incredibly generous and will just let you use their alter. Depending on how many bones I have, I give the owner 5 -10 marrentils. If you are really lucky (like me) you can be a member of a group of friends, one of whm has a gilded alter with burners that he opens up every now and then for us to use.
