biotopsis
I currently only have 512mb of RAM in my computer and was wondering if I should buy more to install in it. I also would like to know if more RAM means faster surfing and even faster Runescape play.
Nadril
What is the rest of your rigs specs? Getting even another 512mb of ram, in most cases, will really help towards performance in general. You will be able to do more tasks at once smoothly, so if you're having slowdowns at all in runescape or while on the web extra ram is great (and cheap too!). But yeah if you have the money go ahead and go for another 512 of ram or so. I'd say you could upgrade to 2gig's but thats unnecessary for the web/runescape unless you're running vista (in which I would nearly just recommend 2 gigs to anyone than). Bac_Talan
I'd say 1.5-2.0 gigs if the rest of your computer is relatively good. If it's more than 2 years old, you may be better off upgrading the entire system. I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.Pics or it didn't happen. I hate my generation. Your surf speed won't increase because of RAM and anything past 512 MB is not noticeable in XP, unless you play games that need a lot of resources. Yes it's usable with 512, but it leaves you with very little wiggle room if you use something like PhotoShop or use multiple applications at once quite regularly. A friend's XP system with comparable stats and 1gb = fast. Get 1gb, RAM is insanely cheap nowadays anyway. And if you do anything much beyond the basics, get a bit more. And seriously consider upgrading the whole system if it can't support DDR2. Just my two cents. I once shot a man in Reno, just to watch him die.Pics or it didn't happen. I hate my generation.
