Stances, New Ways To Hold Your Weapon

Featured Replies

I think we should be able to hold our weapons in a different way, it's boring to see all characters hold their weapons the same way. So I came up with some other ways to hold weapons.

If you see any type of weapon missing, please tell me and I'll add it.

Weapons have three stances: Casual, Offensive, and Defensive.

Here is what you will look like with stances and weapons:

Pole Arms, such as Spears and Halberds:

Casual: You hold it the way you currently hold it.

Offensive: You grab the pole with both hands and point it forward, while slightly leaning in that direction.

Defensive: You grab it with both hands and place it to your chest, pointing it diagonally upward.

Two-Handed Swords, such as the Godsword:

Casual: You place on your shoulder, like the Pre-GWD style.

Offensive: You hold it the way you do now.

Defensive: You grab the handle with both hands and place it right in front of you, the sword pointing upward.

One Handed Melee Weapons, Like Battle Axes & Scimitars:

Casual: You hold it the way you do now.

Offensive: You extend your arm and point the weapon forward, and your sheild stays to the side if you are wearing one.

Defensive: You hold you weapon upwards at a right angle from your arm. You also place your sheild in front of your chest if you are wearing one.

Note: the Dragon Dagger will now point forward like other daggers.

Crossbows, such as Karil's Crossbow:

Casual: You hold it the way you do now.

Offensive: You grab the bow with one hand, put it to your head pointing forward, and take aim. Your sheild stays in place.

Defensive: You place the bow near your shoulder pointing upward and use your sheild to block your chest.

Two Handed Bows, such as Longbows and Crystal Bows:

Casual: You hold it the way you do now.

Offensive: You pull the string on the bow back, take aim, but do not fire.

Defensive: You place the bow to your chest vertically.

Thrown Weapons, Such as Javelins:

Casual: You hold it the way you do now.

Offensive: You hold the weapon above your shoulder with it pointing forwards. For throwing axes, the head of the axe points backward.

Defensive: You place the weapon to your chest with the weapin pointing upward.

No Weapon (Unarmed):

Casual: Your arms are in the same current position as they are now.

Offensive: Your fists are places in front of your face in a blocking position.

Defensive: Your arms are placed in an X shape on your chest.

You've forgotten knives, darts etc.

Anyway, I don't see the point of bonuses, but being able to customize how your character holds his/her weapon would be alright.

Why are bonuses pointless?

And I'll start working on the thrown weapons.

It would sure be interesting if this was introduced into the game.

For the bows one, it should be your turned a little and one hand on the bow, one holding the string ready to shoot.

For the offensive one.

For the defensive one, I would say it should be two hands on the bow holding it lateral near your waist ready to block a blow.

Pretend there is.

i support this idea, but i dont like the idea that if you change the position, you get a bonus for somthing/!

just hold it simple: just difrent looks

See how the Scimitars are held in this picture taken from the RuneScape Knowledge Base. I think they should be held like this for casual rather than how it is currently. Any thoughts?

Its a good idea, but so much fine coding could be better used somewhere else to improve the game.

This should take almost no coding.

Sounds Cool ^-^

As long as it doesn't take Jagex too much time to do, wasting their time.

Verac's Helm

with a litle work we could design it ourselfs and if people like sign something we could send it to jagex so they could fix it up and add it to the game. =)

Knowledge and Thought are two different things.

It should be fairly easy to implement.
