Bolt question

I recently started killing black dragons and currently Im using enchanted diamond bolts. I was wondering if someone that has perhaps used other ones could offer some advice on other bolts. The ones Ive consider where pearl, emerald, and ruby. With pearl I want to know if you do get bonus damage for dragons being a fire creature or does it just do normal damage. The emerald and ruby I want to know how beneficial they are to use. Cost is a factor to consider too since the diamond bolts are nice but pretty costly. Thank you for the advice and help.

I like to use Emerald Bolts (e). I make them myself since I have all the required levels. Takes about an hour to make 1k of them, and they cost 200-250ea in the GE. You lose about 10 bolts for every dragon you kill, depending on your range level (80+ might take 7 or 8 bolts), meaning you lose 2k gp, and gain 5k in the process. So say you had 1k bolts to waste, your profit would be: 1k/10=100, 100*5k=500,000, this means you have 1k bolts and are able to kill 100 dragons with them, earning you 5k profit for each (dragonhide and bones). They're good bolts to use, they poison your target, and you can hit fairly high with them (20 at 70 range), so I suggest you try them out.

Thanks for the advice that was one of the things I wondered because Im losing about 8-10 a dragon and they cost me like 500gp to make so Im pretty much breaking even with hides and bones but would like to do better than that.
