In terms of luck, generally if you go in with the intention of getting a drop, you will never get it. If you go for "fun" or some other reason, you will get a drop. See? it worked for your friends because you weren't expecting a drop.

 

 

 

All these stories of armadyl hilt solos are because the guys never expected to get something that valuable. So you will get a drop when you least expect it.

I've been playing on this account 3+ years and never had a dragon drop, a barrows item or anything better then some yews as a drop.
