Beedlebard
For F2P, the ores at the mine south east of Varrock are the closest to the bank. Just a note, if you mine equal copper and tin ores and smelt/smith them, you can get 14 or 15 smithing with only 20 mining levels. I was wondering..about the thing mentioned in bold..what has more advantage, and why? And what does it mean? Do I have to have an equal amount of copper and tin ores in my bank and also in my inventory? thanks in advance, Beedle
no_way2go
Just in the bank will be fine, you can use the ores on a furnace to smelt them into bars. 1 tin ore and 1 copper ore make 1 bronze bar, you can use these bars to train smithing and make armour/weapons 8-) - Back to casual f2p scaping due to limited time (university and girlfriend ) -
Lunar_Drifter
I'm not sure what you're asking.. Until 20 Mining, if you mine an equal amount of tin and copper, you can get 14 or 15 Smithing just from those ores when you smelt and smith them. When you're mining, you don't have to mine an inventory of half tin, half copper. If you want, you could. You could also mine a whole inventory of copper, then come back and do an inventory of tin. Whatever is suitable for you. When you go to smelt them, bring 14 Tin and 14 Copper ores. That will produce 14 bronze bars. Smithing is easy enough, you should have a handle on that. Hope that answered your question.. I tried to cover all the bases. Retired Tip.It Mod || Admin and Founder of Caesar 3 Mod Squad! All are welcome! Beedlebard
I apologize to posting double, but I can't seem to remove my post... I was wondering: at level 15, you can mine iron. What is wiser and why: to continue mining Copper and tin until level 20, or to switch to iron? And if iron, should I continue with that until level 30, or switch to silver? Because you need a minimum level of 16 to be able to craft something with that..and I believe you have to melt it first? The same for gold. And sorry, haven't played the game for a while.. angus1087
u'll work very slow if u do the product which u could just be able to do so u should keep on mining Copper and tin til 20 then ur speed of mining iron would be constant the time u wait for a silver to respawn=about 10iron ores u mine hope i can answer ur question XD
Beedlebard
Next question relating to this: Now I'm at level 7 smithing, almost level 8. What I am wondering is; Should I smith 2 bars? because the Total Smithing Experience with 2 bronze bars is 18.7 and with one bar only 6.2. This may look a silly question, but I was wondering this, because it would be quite handy to smith an entire bronze suite with everything for combat. And the meaning is whether I will still make level 15 smithing with 19/almost 20 mining if I do this.
Mak_1027
Okay...here is how it works you get 6.2 XP for smelting (putting 1 tin & 1 copper into furnace and making 1 bar) you get 12.5 XP per bar you smith. Smithing XP is based on the number of bars you smith, so if you smith 2 bronze daggers you use 1 bar for each dagger (for a total of 2 bars) and get a total of 25 XP, if you make 1 bronze full helm you need 2 bars to make 1 helm and you still get 25 XP total. So the item you make doesn't really matter, it's the total number of bars you smith ...hope this makes sense
crow
My advice: do "doric's quest", that brings in a good starters mining xp (and you don't really need a mininglevel, just have the ores he needs with you; you can easily obtain them from the ge or from another player) also do "knights sword" (like the person above suggested), it's indeed easy smith-xp.
