New computer ordered!!!

Featured Replies

GPU should have been this. 8800GT 512mb a lot cheaper and performs better.

CPU should have been this (Same model only the black edition - it runs cooler and extremely overclockable.) You would have to buy a seperate heatsink, but they cost next to nothing and would be quieter then the stock one.

You should have picked this motherboard as it has a newer chipset and SLi for only a few Euros more.

I can't fault the Ram, case, DVD and HDD.

Good luck with the build and I hope you haven't actually ordered those parts you listed yet.

Nice nice, but why do you want to pay 300+ euro for a GTS card?

Buy an 8800GT and overclock, it will perform the same if not even better, for about 100eu less.

8800GT cooling, no comments. So not much OCing there, i would have bought the black edition, but the store didnt have it when i ordered. Sli is only problems, heat and power usage so Sli isnt needed.

Seems you didn't do much research, lol.

Seems like you dont know what youre talking about?

No, I think he's right. The motherboard chipset is about 3 years old, and the current intel processors are about 25-30% faster then current AMD ones for the same price.

Oh, and WOW 300 Euros for an 8800gts? They are about 300$ here.

Seems like you dont know what youre talking about?

Lol. I'd rather have a single 8800GT and a SLi mobo so I can buy another 8800GT in the future than a none SLi mobo and a 8800GTS any day, and I'm almost 100% sure any one who knows what they are talking about would too.

He does know what he's talking about. The 8800GT is the better card. The GT is also slightly cheaper than the GTS.

If you're going to go telling people they don't know what they're talking about, you should at least know your facts.

You need help. The 8800 series dominates all. It basicly goes like this. 8800GTX > 8800GT > 8800GTS. Get your facts right cos I'm damn sure Cruiser knows alot more about computers and hardware than you, and most likely the majority of this forum too.

Go there, and whos on the top, yes 8800GTS 512mb with the NEW G92 core!

People, 320mb and 640mb models of GTS are the old G80core ones, and those r bad, but the 512mb model is the new G92...

lurifax.png

I stand corrected then. I didn't notice that a new version of the GTS had been released and after a bit more digging found AnandTech had done another review of them aswell. The benchmarks do put the G92 GTS ahead of the GT, but I still wouldn't find myself paying the $70 difference (via Newegg, cheapest GTS G92 vs cheapest GT) between the two for the performance gain the graphs show.

Good luck with the build either way.

Edit: Corrected my price difference and link. I used the 256mb GT the first time :-#

8-) 8-) I actually would have bought the GT, it is cheaper, but the store didnt have it in stock and there were like 40+ ordered already on every model, so i bought the GTS. Its got better cooling and OC abilities anyway. I might make a thread with some pictures of when im building it.

Naah Cruiser you are still right. The 8800GT is also based on the G92 core revision, so its only about ~3% slower then the 8800gts based on the G92 revision.
