Kenshinjapan
Is anyone else tired of looking at the general forum? Most major topics start with an absurd title to get more readers. For example, "Jagex Supports Satanism??". And lets not forget every other topic that is based on a crappy opinion quoted from the RSOF. The other thing that is bothering me is all the topics asking nothing more than a crappy question. For instance, "Summoning's release date?" and "Summoning release: You decide!". Should the forum really be based on dumb questions that are impossible to figure out and cannot be proven with any evidence? We might as well have everyone pick a number between 1-30! Does anyone else think that something needs to change? YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!
Captainkidd
Well they are discussing somthing...where it's absurd or not, they still are. I agree they are WAY TO MANY threads about summoning, I think there should just be one main on that has everything on it thats a sticky, but it's a little to late now, in a few weeks things will calm down...until the second batch comes. :wall:
InkofDeath
So you think having theories, and futuristic problems, or events aren't discussing something? If your mad that the forum is flooded about summoning, then you've obviously missed the fact Jagex tried to do this with 'hyping up summoning and it's release' clearly shown in their dev diaries. Should the forum really be based on dumb questions that are impossible to figure out and cannot be proven with any evidence? Was it just me, or was a few weeks ago, someone made a theory about Jagex taking out the wild, with replacements, and wait, that happened? As well, most of those summoning threads have pretty decent evidence in them, as well as logical thinking in the ones about the date of release, hence the calender in one of the pictures of the dev diary? Unless you think that's not evidence? Your ranting, not suggesting. The only that needs to be changed is regular one line posters, or +1 posts, the threads in General, if they were interesting for the users, would they go past 60 posts? or even go past four pages? That's a clear indicating the users enjoy, and are interested in those threads.
Kenshinjapan
Exactly, it's just a cycle. Once summoning is released, the 'new skill?!' threads will pop back up as well as the hypotheticals usually involving as set amount of money given to you. :wall: To the post above: They need to put all of those topics into one as they all eventually talk about the exact same thing. And no, I'm not ranting. My solution is to simply sticky the ideas with several topics on the forum and update them to where you can't have absurd titles just to grab viewers. Not every solution is solved by implementing something else, simply remove them. YOU! ATTEND TET EVENTS! CLICK HERE!

But that is what General is. What it has always been. Or am I wrong? Go look in the back pages of General. Whenever a new skill, or new items, or anything is promised in a BTS, or hinted by Jagex, people are going to thrive on it. It's not a cycle, it's a phase. tripsis
I think that these topics are just due to the excitement of summoning combined with the frustration of the recent changes. Jagex have made huge changes to the game and people wonder if they will make anymore drastic changes. In addition to that, people are excited about summoning and they're going to make speculations/assumptions about it. I don't see anything wrong with that. It is a discussion forum and I find it rather silly to limit discussion topics (i.e. make a rule saying that speculations are not allowed, then when another topic theme gets too popular ban that too). Speculations are just popular right now due to the recent and upcoming RuneScape changes. I'm sure it will die down a bit once people get used to these changes and summoning is released. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
Beaumonde
Things like "When do you think Summoning will be released" and "Summoning Pures Coming?" are more or less asking everyone for their opinion and contain little discussion potential. In my opinion things like that should go in Questionnaires or in there own forum. Stat Progress | Stat Averages | Stat Records

And besides, those topics do hold a lot of discussion.
