January 15, 200818 yr Hi! Recently I have been having troubles with my computer. It is a 2004 Acer ( I know... ) It is a family computer that isn't used for a whole lot. Lately I have been getting a message saying that my virtual memory is too low and windows has to make more or something like that. I have tried to let the computer sit for a few hours to make more but it never works...whenever I try to open something it just closes. So I just restart my computer and it is fine for a few days. What can I do? PS ----> has to be free and not downloaded :-w
January 15, 200818 yr hold windows key and hit pause break + advanced tab + settings under performance + advanced tab + change under virtual memory Set it to 1.5 times your ram and make the initial and the maximum the same size. If you still get the error after that, raise it some more.
January 15, 200818 yr Author Sorry, I don't speak techno....Can you repeat that in English please? :D EDIT: I think I got it....just the last part...I don't know how to set it to 1.5x my ram.
January 15, 200818 yr Meh. Hold the windows key (Between Ctrl+Alt, bottom left of the keyboard) and hit the pause break key (top right of the keyboard, probably next to Scroll lock). Than go to the 'advcanced tab' that you see. (it is a tab that says advanced) Then go to the settings button under the 'performance' section. Go to the advanced tab under that And press 'change' under virtual memory and set it to 1.5x or your ram. To find out how much ram you have go to the general tab after you press Windows + Pause break and it will tell you. Than just times it by 1.5 and type that in when you hit 'change'. I really don't know how to explain it any clearer than that.
