February 15, 200818 yr I didn play classic, I started 1 week after you could no longer tansfer items between classic and rs2. There were fewer players so there was definatly more community. But still, it seems worse because you only really notice the annoying people. Still, there used to be inteligent and semi-inteligent discussion at teh f2p karamja fishing spot. Now, well its just from the bottom end of human inteligence.
June 17, 200818 yr of course its gone down, not so much in members, but I remember when you could ask people for help and advice, and they would give it to you. Now, its just a flamefest wherever you go in F2P. In members, it still happens, but if you are high leveled, and hang out in high leveled places, you can actually find intelligent life. http://s3.zetaboards.com/SkillingClan/index/ <~~ Clan Site
June 17, 200818 yr I don't think it's really gone down. I think we have grown up, ingame and IRL. People who complain about the community three years ago and the community now often forget that three years ago, they were three years younger. For teenagers, and young adults - Three years can represent a hell of a lot of change in world view and outlook. Also remember, when you were new to the game you often wouldn't see the newbish crap that irritates you now as newbish crap - You'd just see it as part of the game. On top of this, it's human nature to view the past in rose tinted glasses - You don't want to remember the frustrating [cabbage]e you used to wade through; there's enough of that in the present. 'Rock Hard' boss pure - 60/60 Attack | 99/99 Range | 1/1 Defence | 44/44 Prayer | 99/99 Strength | 99/99 Mage - level 79 combat EOC ## '07 Server ## "Best Runescape update ever: Removing 6 years of updates." "Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don't you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can't think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you're supposed to read? Do you think every thing you're supposed to think? Buy what you're told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you're alive. If you don't claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned- Tyler"
June 19, 200818 yr From talking to RSC players and reading tip.it interviews (like the Sir Beachy one) it seems that the RSC community was tight, and more mature because they were a lot more condensed. They had to at least kind of get along or at least tolerate eachother because there was a lot less RS space back then. Now with so many people your going to get a lot more disconnection. And with a lot more people come a lot more idiots. Even though I still think overall RS isn't too bad with behavior (in member worlds). Obviously the higher levels you come in contact with, the more chance they are going to be mature, because they have been playing a lot longer and have probably learned at that point that being immature doesn't get you far. But theres always going to be problem kids.
June 20, 200818 yr I've only been playing about 3 years and I don't see a lot of difference in that time. What has changed is that now I have a membership so idiotic behaviour is a tiny fraction of what it is on F2P. Also, with higher lvls you can go places where the conversation doesn't revolve around 'fr33 stuff pl0x!!' or making little pictures of genitals with odd keyboard characters(!) I just go up to the fishing guild and avoid the lot of them!
June 21, 200818 yr I there is a bit of rose tinted glasses going on here. Still I think that it was a better community back then, when I first started playing. Most players gave help, and there wasn't as much mud-slinging. There were still problems though, mind you. Thoroughly retired, may still write now and again
