June 10, 200818 yr After the new quest I don't want to burthorpe until after I can permanantly do it, which is after I learn to make the helmet of course, so I don't want to burthorpe these. What is the best way to kill these, and which ones are the best to kill?
June 10, 200818 yr These are surprisingly an actually good task. U. Scabarites This section was orignally written by 1 B L 0 O D. Thanks! Amount assigned: Duradel, 60-90; Sumona, 30-60 Hitpoints: Location: East of Sophanem, Sophanem Dungeon Approximate charm drop percentages- Gold: 8% Green: 3% Crimson: 27% Blue: 2% The best way to kill these is to cannon and melee them under Sophanem. Another option is to cannon and melee them in the swamp with the reeds, near the large statue, but that is about the same speed, and gives no charm drops. Contrary to popular belief, Scabarites are absolutely worth doing and are one of the best tasks you can be assigned, in my opinion. They are fast slayer xp (30k+ per hour) and drop tons of crimson charms. When you get a task of these, use a Pharaoh's sceptre to teleport to Pyramid Plunder and bank at the bank in Sophanem. I suggest wearing Proselyte and praying Protect from Melee, since they hit hard enough and frequently enough to require a LOT of healing, even in addition to the cooked bass that is dropped! I do not suggest using Piety on these since your cannon does much of the work, and the Locust Riders can only walk up to you at a limited speed. Use the typical melee equipment with a Proselyte plate and legs. Suggested inventory- House teleport tabs or Amulet of glory Dragon dagger(p++) Holy wrench Tinderbox Bullseye lantern (lit) 1 energy potion Cannon 2 super attacks or Zamorak brews 2 super strength 1 range pot 4-7 prayer pots Food in extra space (Familiar: Combat familiar) Zarfot 09-Feb-2008 20:52:04 Last edited on 24-May-2008 15:55:46 by Zarfot Once ready, go down the ladder from the bank. Run west, avoiding/disabling the [bleep]e traps, and go down the ladder. Turn on Protect from Magic, then run south a few steps, then run northwest until you reach another ladder, and go up it. Go south avoiding wall traps, pitfalls, and pushers, and go down the ladder. If you fall in a pit, then you will appear in the room you need to be in. If that happens, just run south. Now set up your cannon one square west and five squares north of the ladder and stand one square west of cannon base. Notice that only melee locusts will attack you because you are south of the "roaming" range of the mage. Therefore, your cannon will kill rangers and mages far out in the room, but they will not attack you. Although these seem hard to get too, it actually can take under two minutes to get from Sophanem bank to the correct location. Once I knew the correct path, I was able to get from the bank screen in Sophanem to the correct location, with my cannon set up, in 105 seconds. These are a great dropper of crimson charms. In fact, during my tasks I average over 100 crimson charms per hour (tasks don't last an hour, of course ) making this possibly the third fastest way to get crimson charms, behind rock lobsters and waterfiends. Only go north into the range of the Scarab Mages if you see good drops like crimson charms, since they can hit hard and also extinguish your lantern (that's what the tinderbox is for ). With maxed stats, about 350 kills (31.5k slayer xp) can be gotten per hour. [Summoning guide (AOW)] [Slayer guide] [Melee & Brawl player]
June 10, 200818 yr Give us your stats and ittle help a load. For me ad 113 f2p cmb they are a very nice task, im not sure why everybody complains so much. there is a multicombat area with scarabites east of the agility pyramid. Im the swampy reedy area, the furthest north eastern part with a larrge scarab statue. Thet reaspawn very quickly and easy to kill. Take guthans and a few super sets and take them down quickley. they might even be cannonable. BE CAREFUL though, theres about 5 of them that can gang up on you with either melee or range, soif you get to low jp prot prayers won't fully protect, if it happens just go south into the reeds and get them in single combat to heal.
