Death Note

Read it in Japan this summer, and I have to admit I really liked it. I do believe Light is definitely smarter than Nell or Melo, though.

No way! Possibly smarter than Mello (because his emotions influence him too much), but definitely not Near. Remember, Light had the easy part in this, imagine how much harder it was to trap and convict him.

Light is infinitely smarter than near. L did all the hard work against him, then Near and Mello just came along and said, "oh look, we've just been handed the answer on a plate, and its still gonna take us 12 episodes to work it out."

Expanding on my "sexy anime" comment, I have also to disclose that this is indeed, an anime which is of a sexy nature.

I barely even know what Death Note is about (have a slight idea though) but that's one of the funniest things I've watched for months. Nice lip syncing for such an innocent character

From a person who read all the books (1-13), watched both dubbed and subbed, I found the anime version's last episode to be a let down. Honestly, it would've been perfect had Light cursed in the dubbed version.

I had a piece of grass on my shoe, and she wiped that off. Yeah. Impressive, eh? That's probably the closest I've ever been to having sex. :P

Plus [hide=spoilers]It wasn't Light's fault he got caught anyways.[/hide]

[hide=Spoiler]If he didn't go off and say "I win" or whatever he said, wouldn't he have been able to bluff his way out of it, or at least blame it on Mikami? I'm just going on what I can remember from the anime, which I watched a while ago, so I could be missing some. And by Mikami I mean the guy he entrusted the Death Note to, if I got his name wrong.[/hide]

[hide=spoilers]yeah but it was Mikami's fault that the death note he had was replaced by Near because he killed Takada and Mello in a fire, meaning if Mikami had done what Light had told him to, Light would have won.[/hide]

[hide=Jaziek]Near didn't get any of the information, only that L had died. Watch the series again.[/hide]

[hide=@ Nadril]I still say it was Light's fault. He was careless and didn't pick the true right person for the job.[/hide]

it doesnt take a genius to work ok that when L's private communication channel is being used, and he's dead, theres a VERY high chance its the killer thats using it.[/hide]

[hide=Jaziek]But when L died he instructed Watari to delete all the information. However, all the information such as Kira being in Japan and the suspicious aura around Light helped Near alot but at the price of L's life.[/hide]

By the way, I hope no one here watches the english dub...I mean come on, look at this HILARIOUS scene:

[hide=Jaziek]So if I drive the car of a dead person, that makes me the murderer? :? . Look at it as if you weren't an omnipresent viewer. It seems highly unlikely that the criminal happened to take the position of the person who was chasing him. Besides, it's pretty obvious that L was working with an investigation team, so it shouldn't be a surprise that after the boss dies, the rest of the men take over after he has passed away.[/hide]

[hide=kenshin]Yes, it doesnt automatically make it so, but its VERY viable possibility. And also, the fact that Light used the channel, whilst not giving away the information that L was dead, (even if it was only for a very short time) should have given away that he ( or the investigation team in general) had something to hide. Basically Near had a choice of 5 or 6 people to begin with.[/hide]

[hide=Jaziek]Near already knew that L had died and that the Task Force was never obligated to give him any information. And I wouldn't really consider Near's suspection of the 6 as a "choice" of who was Kira, just the only lead he had.[/hide]

I didn't really know how to word the second sentence. Hope it makes sense.
