I am currently saving up those gps, and I am wondering which to get with them: A cannon or a Black mask? I will be doing a lot of slaying so I am leaning towards the black mask, is this wise? What would you advise?

A Black Mask is good for monsters you'll be meleeing. A Cannon is good for exploiting monsters like Kalphites and Trolls for fast experience. I'd say get both, if you can.

You could buy a cannon, but what about cannonballs?

 

Just get the mask and slay till you can afford a cannon and cballs without breaking the bank.

I would say get the Black Mask first, solely because if you have exactly enough to buy a cannon- what are you going to do about cannonballs? Just do slayer with your Black Mask until you can afford a cannon and some cannonballs.

I'd get the black mask if I were you. For one, its cheaper, you need to get cannonballs for the cannon as well (Which are close to 160gp a pop), and secondly, most people get really ticked off when you walk into an area and start cannoning all their kills, which is why I don't like using one.

If you are going to train slayer, get a black mask. Period.

 

 

 

Single best item that will help you train. You can cannon, but it only works on a handful of tasks, where a black mask helps you on all of the tasks you chose to melee.

Black mask. Not only do you have to lay out for a cannon you also have to buy cannonballs and these go fast.

 

 

 

Also very few tasks are cannonable in the grand scheme of things so only get a cannon when you can comfortably afford one.

 

 

 

A black mask on the other hand is pretty much an essential slayer item.
