edard
some good things that i have noticed about merchanting are coal coal is good because if you look at the price of bars to materials you will see a big difference. this is what a lot of F2Ps' do to make money so they are constantly buying coal because it is needed in almost every bar. and if you look at the 7 day and the 30 day you will see a major % jump iron this is also good because it is used to make iron knives(many members use them to train range) and used in steel bars(which is used to make cannon balls) i hope i have helped you i have made around 700k using this but i lost 2.5M trying to merchant rares Never try to merchant rares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bad911
Well, this like these are too short to really qualify as guides (imo). You could be easily trying to bump the price of coal up, and have been buying coal for the last week or so and now you can't sell. You could easily be desperate for people to buy your coal...posting here where everyone goes. But thats my opinion. I really have no clue where this goes, it should probably be in AoW (archieve of wisdom), player made guides on money-making. Going to report this thread just to be sure, have a mod look at it.... Anyways, i doubt you should invest in coal, it has peaked, and now its droping, not very economic. Asking for help and advice not giving. It belongs in Player-Made Guides: Monsters, Money-Making, Tips & Other i think Help & Advice Whether you need help or are offering help, all questions belong here. By the way, it says "all questions belong here."

craven_range
Lol, you really think your onto something here? The price increase in coal is not because of f2p making bars using coal. Can you remember recently a new quest came out? It was called rocking out, and it had a level 69 smithing requirement. This is the reason coal has risen, more demand on smithing products, thus increasing the value of the raw material. Coal will drop very soon once the demand for 69 smithing drops, which will be within the next week or so.

edard
still think is should be in help and advice because it is advice but whatever
upthebanner
This should not be in any section. The advice is not helpful. As a previous poster has stated coal, iron ore and steel bars have been inflated in price due to new members quest. Last weekend steel bars exceeded 800gp each and two weeks previously were 610gp. This was a great opportunity to sell your stock. Now steel bars are 718 gp and falling daily. This fall will continue for some while in my estimation. As these fall so will coal and iron ore. The price will probably fall back to the original price before quest because the volume of trades is so high the equilibrium is reached quickly. Please do not take the above as advice to sell or buy but do remember this if you do want to invest in these commodities.
