can u run a prgm off a sandisc?

just wondering if u could run a prgm off a sandisc. and is it possible to make a network without a hub? say i plug an eithernet cord right into 2 different computers? or is it possible for wireless network cards to talk to each other with out a router?

You will need to use an 'ethernet crossover cable' instead of a normal ethernet cable.

It usually depends on the program. If it needs some configuration files or registry keys, then it probably will not. Firefox, for example, would (it saves your profile on the hard disk though... there is a version that will save it on the card though....

You can run some programs off removable media, but not all of them. Many programs require windows registry settings and other system settings to run, but simple programs will run fine. Of course, you can get modified versions of some programs that are designed to run from removable media (such as a the fully awesome portable firefox project.) However, most modern closed source programs won't be able to run from removable media.

Yes, it is. Instead of setting up a normal wlan, you set up an "ad-hoc" lan, which is just a wlan with no router.

1) Yes

 

 

 

2) Get a ethernet cable with cross over and it is possible, or rather then using a "Hub" use a switch or router or about 10000 different gadgets that have that pretty much all do the exact some thing :lol:

 

 

 

3) Using infared works for a 1 on 1 network, but that is only if you have a direct line of sight and are closer then like 30 feet. Not sure if wireless cards could be used like that though, never bothered to try it
