Are you kidding? LOOK at the front page of general discussion right now. 6000 views 73 replies 50k views 6k replies 19 views 12 replies 209 views 1 reply 18 views 1 reply 14k+ views 2k replies Seriously, if you think this is intelligent discussion, gb2/b/. And if you don't know what that means... Lurk moar. You wouldnt happen to have stairs in your house would you? But I agree that the conversations on this board are far from intelligent. Sadly, they are more intelligent then most forums are. But have you ever tried playing Runescape on drugs? It is pretty awesome.

Aug 15, 2007: Dev diaries and themed worlds update
mrcowcow replied to Omali's topic in General Discussion
If there is serious interest in hearing the new god wars dungeon music, I suppose I could do something. It doesn't look like it would be that hard. -
Are you addicted to runescape?/how you got over it
mrcowcow replied to bob_hello's topic in General Discussion
I just kinda lost interest after a while. Then about a year later I started playing again, but I play much less then I used to. -
First off, decide if you want to use windows or linux. Linux would be my reccomendation, but you can use windows if you want. On Windows, use Ceberus for ftp, the printer/file sharing for file sharing, and the game server for whatever game you want a server for. This might be easier to set up then Linux, but it will probably be less secure and stable. If you decide to go with Linux, you need to choose a distro. Ubuntu is a good one for beginners. Use vsftpd for the ftp server, samba for sharing the printers, and the linux version of the game server for the game you use. It shouldnt take too long to set up either way, and it will be well worth it.

He most likely is using intergrated graphics, which uses some ram as video ram, removing it from the avaible ram for other stuff. As for speeding it up, killing anything that is not being used will help. You may not be able to run WMP and RS a the same time due to your processor speed, but closing anything not in use will help speed things up.

I was really hoping to avoid a wireless card, since I dont really want to get one working. I do have a card that has decent Linux drivers, so I may just have to use that.

Greenville Middle Academy is the most strict school ever
mrcowcow replied to Acelgoyobis's topic in Off-Topic
That is a bit extreme. We play poker at lunch all the time, and the principal doesn't care. They were too strict with the students. -
I have been looking for a good, cheap wireless network bridge recently, and have been unable to find one. I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions. There will be two computers using it. I would perfer the bridge to a wireless card becuase getting wireless cards to work on Linux is a major pain. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Looking For Good WebDesign (need photos so i know ur good)
mrcowcow replied to jamesgames61's topic in Tech and Computers
There are people who will do it for free / next to nothing. Gotta start out somewhere, and expecting a lot for sub-standard work isn't the way to do it. Scriptlance is the perfect example of that (and rent a coder too iirc). Yes, you may be able to find someone, but you would probably have to know them already. Professional quality design will almost never be free. -

mrcowcow replied to jamesgames61's topic in Tech and Computers
Yes, no one will do good web design for free. So be prepared to spend a good amount of money, or do it yourself. -
For a main os, I would reccomend Ubuntu. I use it on my Linux computer, and it works great. If you really want to play games, and dont mind paying, I have heard Cedega works well. It allows you to play Windows games on Linux. I does cost money, but it may be worth it.

on average in rs how many hours a day/week/month do u play?
mrcowcow replied to donutjunkie's topic in General Discussion
Its about half an hour a day now, because I have swimming and school. Earlier this year it was about 2 hours on school days, and 6 on weekends. I am also losing some interest in the game, so I dont feel like playing as much. -
If you have 4 slots for ram, then yes, you would be able to keep what you have now and add two 512mb sticks.

If you are trying to format it using the Windows cd, and it is not working, try wiping it with Kill Disk first. You can get it at http://killdisk.com/. Whta is does is it completely wipes the drive. Then try to format it. This worked for me when I tried to format a disk, but it wouldnt format. I think some data was preventing it from formatting or something.

HOW ON EARTH DO U DELETE UBUNTU AND RETURN TO WINDOWS XP
mrcowcow replied to danderton's topic in Tech and Computers
1. Find a Windows XP CD 2. Put it in the cd drive 3. Reboot, and follow the instructions If that doesn't work, then something is wrong with your computer. -
t.msn.com is the "MSN Today" site. There is probably some way to disable MSN Today from opening everytime you open MSN Messanger, but since I dont have MSNM, I dont know what it is. http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.messenger&tid=02413682-bd41-4ba4-941e-d8720cefd834&p=1 That may help, it explains it a little more.

You could probably upgrade your graphics card, since I think there are PCI 9600's I couldnt find one on ATI's site. But what I have now works just fine for me, so I see no real reason to upgrade.
