Farming

Featured Replies

I am currently higher than my friend in all skills. She seems to want to beat me in something and obviously I don't want her to.

She blitzed my firemaking level, so I took mine to 90, currently 3 levels ahead of her. I think she got bored of that, and realised it was a losing battle.

Now she has decided to get high farming and is very very close to me. Luckily I have a huge stash of seeds saved up so last night did a nice tree run so today will be getting 5 mage trees, 3 palms and 2 papayas. Also planted a spirit tree which won't be ready.

Also I am doing allotments/herbs, strawberries, marigolds and high level herbs.

My question is, is this the most efficient way to train farming? I don't want to be spending too much on it and ideally would like to use the herbs myself, if I have to sell them though I will. Also I don't really want to be training farming, as I am after the new slayer items.

Any ideas on the best way to incorporate the two until she gets bored of farming?

I do:

Maple trees

Pineapple trees

and herbs when I feel like it

Cost doesn't really affect me, but I don't know about you.

Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

I'd plant pineapples, yews (only slightly higher gp/xp than maples) and kwuarms/snaps/toadflax/whatever.

It would get you about 70-75k xp per day, and the seeds cost about 500k.

Herb runs make like 80k, so you would be able to make a good part of the money spent on seeds back by doing herb runs.

I will be doing this too once I feel like rcing again to pay for the yews, it's quite fast and cost efficient at the same time.

I really doubt her catching up with you if you keep doing this for a longer period of time.

You seem set, but if you ever get on a budget, do curry trees instead of pineapple, curry are only like 2-3k a seed and still give tons of exp.

While I don't feel I have anything to contribute since I'm less experienced at Farming than you, I just want to say you're friend really seems like an hyper-competitive person, especially since this isn't the first thread you've posted about trying to keep ahead of her in one skill or another.

Lol, tell her she should try to beat your smithing/range level too while farming, she may even catch up with you :P .

 I'm more competitive than she is. I could just let her get the XP to rise above me.

If she sets her mind to beating my runecrafting or mining then she'd beat me :D
