I decided to smith steel from 60-69, since mith takes too much banking and I hate smithing. So if I buy the iron ore and coal, what should I do?

Smith mith bolts. Not much loss. If you want, you could make enough money smelting steel bars (and possibly making cballs) to not lose anything making mith bolts.
