Computer freezes

My computer freezes at least once every 15 minutes. It did it before, but that was only when I moved a scrollbar by clicking on the scrollbar myself (so not using the scrollwheel on my mouse). But now, it also happens when I am just looking around on TIF and just click something. This is really irritating and I hoped you guys could help me. If you need anything from my computer, just ask.

First I would say post your specs...if you don't know them, the fastest way to get some info in is right click on my computer, select properties, and take a screenshot of that.

Also, how long has this been going on, and what exactly are you running/doing when it happens? Plus, if this didn't happen in the past, can you remember anything that you did before the problem started happening that may have caused this problem?

You should be a bit more specific about the problem, because the more details we have, the faster the problem can be solved.

So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? Good job.
What scares me is that you're like 10 years old.
-.- im not that freaking young
You were a couple years ago.
It's not racist if its true.
Hmm... I wonder how one goes about throwing someone out a window in a mystic fashion :-k

The mental image for that is freaking awesome.

I hope that is it, and sorry it is in Dutch.

This problem has started to occur around 3 days ago. It happens sometimes when I have nothing open and just click one thing, but it happens most of the time when I am moving a scrollbar, or moving a window.

How is the computer freezing? Does it lock up and you can even move the mouse? Do you get an error or a blue screen? Does the program lock up but you can still do other things?

If I have music on and my computer freezes, it sounds as a machine gun shooting at me. I can't move anything, type anything or something. It just stops working.

when it happens again, can you try and open task manager and task a screenshot of processes/cpu usage/ram usage. It'll all be on that one screen

Impossible, if it freezes, I can't do anything. Can't click anywhere, no task manager, nothing moves and nothing can move.

Sounds very much like a hardware fault, possibly overheating, possibly faulty RAM. But to check, boot your machine in safe mode and leave it a while, if it still crashes then it's almost definitely hardware.

Things you may be able to check:

1. Make sure all the fans inside are spinning.

2. Try re-seating the RAM.

3. If your compitent enough, check cohesion between the heat sink and the CPU, and if necessary clean the surfaces and use new heat sink compound.

4. Re-seat any cards in your system such as Video etc.

Good luck,

Clare.

Next time it happens, Ctrl+alt+delete and select the processes tab. sort by CPU usage or Memory Usage.

See if anything is [bleep]ing. if anything is [bleep]ing, tell us the process name, the amount of memory it is using, and the CPU %.
