July 11, 200818 yr Hello there, After i saw all this awesome artists in the gallery , i was thinking of doing myself , and that's what i did ... I use Gimp and i'm fine with that . Also don't expect it to be to great as this is my first work . Everything is made by myself exept of the render [hide=my siggy Signature by LittleboyRunescape and impatient people are like ying and yang, they exist as one, they need each other
July 11, 200818 yr Great job! +1 because you use GIMP! It's a beautiful signature, and the background is really good. Did you take it from an abstract graphic, or did you do it with brushes? (I'm betting on the former.) The colors flow together pretty well. It's a GREAT first attempt. You should think about adding a border. (In gimp, you select all [ctrl-a], go to "select -> shrink", shrink by one and then invert selection [ctrl-i], then fill with whatever color you want the border to be.) Avatar by Unoalexi!
July 11, 200818 yr -Background is very flat and has no depth. -Text is better suited not being at an angle for this sig. The "Noob-4-ever" is difficult to read. - Link seems a bit distorted. Chalking this one up to a bad stock image, however. - Download some brushes for gimps from DeviantART and read some tutorials on how to use them. - Colors are fairly plain, just a plain green across the board. - Link can definitely use some more blending in. There are various tutorials around the net (IDK ones for gimp) so check that out. Right now he sticks out and doesn't match with the signature at all.

July 11, 200818 yr I'm not sure how you do it in GIMP. In photoshop you would do Layer styles > Outer Glow > [Enter in settings] There is probably something like Layer styles in GIMP. Outer Glow is really only good though if used very subtly in a few different manners. (I've only used it in web design and designing planets :P)
July 11, 200818 yr Nadril pretty much covered it all, but I'd like to add that it could do with a border too (Select All -> Stroke Selection -> [desired thickness] pixels I believe). Other than that, just keep practising and read some signature tutorials at for example http://www.deviantart.com. EDIT: There is probably something like Layer styles in GIMP. I don't think there's something like that, but I might be wrong. Anyway, the easiest way to make something glow in Gimp (a pentool line, for example) would be to duplicate the layer and blur (a guassian blur at a low amount of pixels would probably be the best option) the original (so the one beneath the duplicate in the layer stack). pixel avvy by me deviantART
July 11, 200818 yr I like this sig alot... I like the render espicially. where do you go for your renders? What sites? Like another person said the text would be better if not on an angle.. That way its not the same direction as your render. Making the text straight also would make it most likely easier to read. But if you don't mind telling me what site you go for your renders :) ^^ CLICK FOR MY DAILY LOG ^^101 runescape suggestions that don't suck.

July 11, 200818 yr Thanks :), I quit rs for a while and got rid of photoshop cs3 after I bought it :S because I ahd no use for sigs... Now my computer won't let me reinstall Cs3.... So I guess I'll try out gimp :D. So not to be a bug but do you know a good tutorial I could use to get use to the interface, tools, ect? ^^ CLICK FOR MY DAILY LOG ^^101 runescape suggestions that don't suck.
July 11, 200818 yr You can find lots of great tutorials on http://www.deviantart.com, just search for 'gimp tutorial' or something like that. And yes, I'm answering all the questions today. :P pixel avvy by me deviantART

July 12, 200817 yr Jopie? Wouldnt you need to scale it, convert it to greyscale first? Then blur it, set it to screen. Nadril covered all the c/c. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
July 12, 200817 yr There is probably something like Layer styles in GIMP. I don't think there's something like that, but I might be wrong. No, you're right, there are no layer styles in GIMP. TBH I don't miss them that much.
July 12, 200817 yr Jopie? Wouldnt you need to scale it, convert it to greyscale first? Then blur it, set it to screen. Nadril covered all the c/c. Why the scaling? :o You're definitely right about the other things though, but I was thinking white pentool lines (since that's what I usually do), so they wouldn't need converting to greyscale. pixel avvy by me deviantART
July 12, 200817 yr Was thinking about making it moar big, so it has a glow on the outside. danke Schon Sam!^^"Blood runs thicker, oh were thick as thieves you know"-Carl Barât
