Best way to get my mage to lvl 59?

Featured Replies

My mage is currently lvl 46 and I was wondering what is the best/cheapest way to lvl it to 59 for the Family Crest quest?

What the best monster/spell/or if a non combat option would be better.

Thx for the help

cammy tele till 55. then high alch.

Thats good or just firestrike your monster of choice.

Another relatively cheap was is to continously curse a monster for exp.

Get yourself a huge -mage bonus by wearing hides or armour, then just curse over and over.

For better results try casting on something relatively magic resistant anyway, such as dragons.

ps. I think you can pot up to 59 for family crest anyway, although i'm not 100% sure.

You can pot up. A good cheap way (i'm talking 20k ish cheap is to fire strike lessers on crandor), then high alch as soon as you hit 55. Get to 56, pot up for the quest and you're done :D

Definitely Fire Strike. Very cheap and efficient way to train.

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

Fire strike has gotten me through many levels. I definitely recommend it to a level 46.

If you have 50 smithing id recommend super heating mithril bars. its over 50k+ maging exp per hour +30k smithing, at about 1-2 gp per maging experience point. Just buy all items at medium price

I use super-heat item and high alchemy in a combo when I make steel platebodies. This method has gotten me through several levels in mage. The way I do it is that I mine and craft my materials myself. Buying all the raw materials to cast the super-heat spells would be very expensive, and i would say that 1-2 gp isn't an accurate price. You have (per cast of superheat item):

  •
    [*:1b5p7396]4 coal: 4 x ~190gp= 760 gp

    [*:1b5p7396]1 mithril ore: 1 x ~180 gp= 180 gp

    [*:1b5p7396]1 nature rune: 1 x ~260 gp= 260 gp

Total gp spent on one spell: 1200

Gp per xp: 1200 gp/53 xp= 22.6 gp per magic xp

In other words, very expensive to do.

But, if you were to obtain all of the listed items above by mining and runecrafting, the time you spend there would be much greater than the time you spend training your magic. I know this from experience. What is much easier, for a person of your level and level goal is the fire strikes. Easy to craft the runes, and doesn't cost u a single gp.

Well you could sell the mithril bars on GE for 1158 gp, which means it would cost 42 gp / 53 xp, or .79 gp/mage xp

That is going off of the current market price on the GE.
