Some new sigs (c/c please) and Pixel WIP

Here are some sigs I've recently made and i'd like some C/C on what to improve in the future.

There are the sigs. Here is my pixel for POTM so far -

 

 

 

 

Tell me what's good, whats bad and things I can improve and change.

 

 

 

This is for the POTM and I think i'm doing alright. OF course, it is no way near hiim's standard or Unoalexi but it is a start, (and my 4th pixel)

 

 

 

Here my last thing. I never got any C/C when i last posted it so i'm posting it again to see what needs improving -

I'm just going to do your WIP,kay?Because thats the one you can change the easiest,to my knowledge...His wings are a little small...Unless he's a bee he can't fly (Bees are supposedly unable to fly,due to wing span:body weight ratio or something).Unless he's a Chinese Dragon?But those don't have gold hoards =D

I like the abstract thing loads! Good combination of colours. Can't wait for the end results of both of them.

Sig 1: The main problem is the text, it's partly over his head, which is not a good idea because you'll probably want that to be the focal. Same with the motion blur, I'd erase some of it off his face. The blending is quite good though.

 

 

 

Sig 2: Not a big fan of it. The text looks quite bleh and all the different fonts make it seem messy. Also, it might just be me, but I can't see what the render actually is. :uhh:

 

 

 

Sig 3: Looks decent. I'm not a big fan of the bright green in the background, it doesn't fit the render. But maybe that's what the requester wanted, so I won't blame you.

 

 

 

Sig 4: Probably my favourite out of these few. It's fairly simple, but the colours work. The text isn't too bad either.

 

 

 

Abstract piece: Don't really like it. It's not really bad (flows quite well for example), but I just don't like all the different brushes you used (Gimp default brush = :uhh:). I can see what you're trying to achieve with the splatter brushes and the red C4D on a blue background, but it just doesn't work for me. The brushes seem the biggest problem, they make the piece look slightly messy.

 

 

 

Pixel: Obviously still very much WIP, so I don't have a lot the say yet, but some of the lines could do with being a bit more straight or a better curve. His body, for example, looks pretty messy because the lines are really squiggly (not sure that's the right word).

Yeah, the requester actually wanted that. I was bit shocked myself :-# . Ever since I started that sig it didn't go well. I forgot to add my main bit of background, and accidentally deleted it. So I was going to be kinda curious on The Gallery's interpretation of it.

Believe it, or not, but there is only 1 gimp defualt brush in there. The rest are downloaded from places like devart - Check out mine: Mrshiynredplanet

 

 

 

Well thanks for the comment Jopie, and I have worked on the pixel a bit, but most of it actually is hand-drawn in paint, and cleaned up.

I decided to add a couple of floral brushes about, some motion blure in places and a border + some blur, and oilifying (plug in in gimp.)

That's basically what I meant, I'm not a big fan of all the different brushes and I don't like the Gimp default brush you used. :wink:

 

 

 

The new version of the LP is better, but I'm not sure about adding even more brushes.

Well, Jopie covered the C/C very well. So I won't really worry about that. I think the biggest concern for you is the colours you use, and your text choice and placement. I myself, am terrible at text :wall:

 

 

 

Onto the brushes thing. Have you used C4D's in any of your signatures? (Forgive me for not checking your gallery). I see you have used fractals, but nowhere to their full potential. With C4D's there is really no "proper" place to put them. But try using them in a different way. Perhaps creating flow, smudging them for colour, etc. You don't have to just leave the C4D as it is though. You can add filters for it (rippling as an example. Not sure what it is in GIMP. Probably the same thing). And if you have used C4D's, maybe you should use them more often. There are loads of ways of adding effects to signatures. Adding in a stock (If it fits, of course), smduging, using C4D's. I could go on and on and wouldn't be able to cover all the things you could use. Also, how do you colour your sigs? Do you use a gradient map, photo filters, or a colour balance?
