NOTE: this is not a guide, but more of a few handy tips. If you've never played Fist of Guthix, this will not tell you how to play.

 

 

 

What to wear

 

 

 

When you play Fist of Guthix, there is a lot of running around to do. Full Rune isn't always your best choice of an outfit. I always wore this when I played FoG:

Strategy

 

 

 

When Hunted

 

 

 

Pick up your stone and sprint to the center as fast as you can. Try to stand in the most crowded place as possible, so your hunter will have trouble finding you. This can buy you some time. Once/if your target finds you and attacks you, run to one of the portals (yellow zones in picture). You will be damaged a little, but don't use your bandages yet. Teleport, and run to the outside. Run around the entire arena once, then go back to the center if the coast is clear. If it's not, take another lap. The last thing you want to do is be caught standing still. Continue this until either your killed, or time runs out. If necessary, teleport some more. Remember, if your HP drops down to about 20%, use your bandage.

 

 

 

When Hunting

 

 

 

When you're hunting, it can sometimes be difficult to find your target. If this is the case, don't forfeit. You should at least give it your best shot. Even if your target is 50 levels ahead of you (it's happened to me!), just keep playing. Pure melee's sometimes have trouble because of the fact that they need to be right next to their target to attack. Since most pure melee's often train magic, just use the runes provided to do some ranged damage. You might want to bring a (magic) staff in with you. Try looking in the center of the arena on the Fist of Guthix. If you see their arrow, keep right clicking around it until you find your target. If you don't see the circle, try the areas around the portals. If you still can't find them, run a lap. If you still can't find them, they're probably on the Fist of Guthix again. Just keep looking.

When being hunted you generaly don't want to just go to the middle because thats the most obviouls thing to do. I normally take my best melee defence armor and best mage defence armor, I find that the extra weight is insignificant compared to the bonuses. Do not use the houses and portals too much. If you are forced into a house do not teleport. It damages you can drain charges and is what most people expect you to do. Stay in the house until they have moved away to check the other houses.

 

 

 

When hunting run strait clear across the arena as fast as you can, most times your target will still be at the other side or not far from it. This works because you respawn on oposit sides.

I'm pretty sure tanking is 100% better because more xp, and rewards per minute.

The best thing to do is wear full dhide, the second you can move grab the stone, and put it on. If you are south, run up the side tio the north east ish wear there is a kind of wall about halfway between portal and the outter rim thing.. hide behind it until ur opponent finds u.. when ur opponent finds u let them attack u and also run behind this wall, then u should click ur tele and wait in the middle. they will be stuck.. from then on just tank in the middle with dhide and mage protect (a def pray if u have a high pray lvl aswell) or melee pray.. with this you should get atleast 1k charge from even the best players..

 

 

 

Hunting:

 

hehe.. hunting is fun, especially in p2p..

 

but since this is a f2p guide i guess ill keep it f2p..

 

Wear any of the fog robes along with a power ammy and green vamps.. a fire staff is nice too.

 

Set fire blast (or wateva the deathrune one is), hopefully ur oppenent will come straight to the middle.. if not run ton the opposite corner to wear u started.. if they not there run back through the middle to wear u started..

 

if u cant find them there then gl looking for em..

 

 

 

anyway when u find them attack with ur mage, bring a scimitar and maple short too.. when they start praying mage, change to either ur scimmy or bow.. depending on what armour they are wearing, and ur str/range lvls.. then just mix it up.. switch weapons lots and theyll be lucky to get mroe then 500 rating..
