Itunes and my Ipod

Heya,

I recently bought a new PC after my old one just completely died on me, and I couldn't backup my Itunes library on a disc. Now my whole Itunes Library is gone. I just installed Itunes back on my computer.

Is there another way to put my songs on my Ipod back into my new itunes library?

I'm scared to DL more songs because I don't know if it will overwrite my other songs.

Thanks

I don't think you can do it if you haven't enabled disc mode on the iPod. If you have, I found a guide that may be of some help.

Enabled Disc Mode (recommended to read second)

A bit more research, and I believe this guide allows you to access your songs if you haven't enabled disc mode.

Recommend read first

Don't download any more songs, and try not to sync your ipod because that will probably erase your library and leave you with a blank ipod and library.

So you sucker punched a kid in the back of the head? Good job.
What scares me is that you're like 10 years old.
-.- im not that freaking young
You were a couple years ago.
It's not racist if its true.
Hmm... I wonder how one goes about throwing someone out a window in a mystic fashion :-k

The mental image for that is freaking awesome.

I have a related problem. When i put in my slightly chewed iPod cord, it goes nuts and says "Power surge, usb power limit exceeded" or something. Anyone know how to fix this?

I was going to eat hot dogs for dinner tonight. I think I will settle for cereal.

^ Is a pain.

Best way is to transfer purchases when right clicking the iPod under itunes

If your hard drive is still functional you could pay about $50 to have to it imaged and then put on your new hard drive.

Plug your ipod into your computer.

When its recognised and such, click my computer, right click the Ipod drive and select explore.

Go to tools, folder options and go to the 2nd tab, tick the box with "show hidden files and folders". Press apply and close the options box.

This should show a folder with a wierd name thats probably just a bunch or letters and numbers, you can open these folders to find your music.

However when i did this i found that none of my music had names, it was all just stuff like "zzr" "trt"

I didnt take them from the Ipod but hopefully when you do, windows will recognise its properties and rename for you.

If not then you have a long time renaming tunes ahead of you :)
