I've tried this as well and I got these.

 

They're my first 2 pixel weapons.

 

 

 

 

 

I would gladly appreciate any tips/help :D

1. All pixel artists should use colors UNDER THE DARK LINE:

 

 

 

 

 

 

Of course you can use colors above this line, but its less realistic.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Wood on staff looks really nice ;)

 

 

 

3. Metal - I think bottom of staff and dragon axe are from metal right? So remember that metal MUST have light on it. Use white or light grey colors to add light. Here is Dragon Metal Ball ( :P ):

 

 

 

 

 

 

Done in GIMP, not Paint. I know its not best xD I dont like GIMP.

 

 

 

4. Add more shading. Just start from light color, then darker... darker... darker.

 

 

 

 

 

5. Any way nice job :)

They're alright, but pretty boring and simple. Some parts lack shading, and the black outlines don't really help with that either. They're not terrible for your first two pixels, but there's plenty to improve on. Take a look at some pixel art tutorials, which can be found here.

I gave them both an update.

I really like the avatar, you might want to make the top (are they bristles? I dunno) of the helm more brush-like.

 

 

 

The axe is really small, hard to see, but I like the staff... It seems like middle wooden part holding the orb on should curve around the orb more, right now it looks flat in that respect.

The shading is off on the helmet. Your light is focused on the white dot/yellow circle in mine. but you also have it coming from the left like there are 2 light sources.

3. First helmet is better. But try to look at it in 3D. Why helmet have only one hole for eye? Cyclops? Other site is metal... Change it.

Just as you said if you look at it in 3D. You can't see the other eye.

 

But as I look to it, it indeed looks a bit as a cyclops helmet...

 

I meant to do that! It's a Roman pirate soldier who wasn't allowed to wear en eyepatch...
