If enough noob wannabe merchants buy a ton of them at max, anything could happen. The GE really destabilizes markets that ought to be pretty straight forward, which is why I pulled out of the rares market altogether. It's perfectly possible for the price to get waaay over what people are willing to pay in the excitement, and all of a sudden you're junk trading santas for 15mil.
