Okay my attempt at random poetry. I was encouraged to try because of dragoonson's cool poem.

 

 

 

Why does the world go on

 

When I can't

 

 

 

I know it's not right

 

For me to want

 

But now my time is ended

 

And I feel I should

 

 

 

No!

 

What point is there

 

In wasting time,

 

Waiting for the end

 

 

 

I've lived a good life

 

Nothing to be ashamed of

 

But those fifteen years

 

Just seem so short now

 

 

 

I will miss you

 

Sitting with you on a summer's night

 

Waiting as you finished your chores

 

 

 

Now why do I have to leave

 

It saddens me

 

This is our last night together

 

 

 

The next time you'll see me

 

You'll not remember

 

 

 

Never, only

 

Me, my agonizing memories

 

To comfort through the nothingness

Another short one... kind of bugs me, it doesn't seem done.

 

 

 

Off in the distance,

 

A battle-horn cries.

 

 

 

The fight has begun,

 

But I am not there.

 

 

 

No, I have been left behind,

 

A useless piece of junk,

 

A boring old man.

 

 

 

In my time,

 

You fought if you knew how.

 

None of this crazy stuff they have nowadays.

 

I can still fight!

 

 

 

You should have seen it,

 

A horse-mounted warrior,

 

Armor gleaming in the sun,

 

I held a long sword in my gloved hand.

 

 

 

And yet I am left behind.

Now I shall have to go write more, I was thinking of a battle from different points of view... It sounds interesting at least.

WIP The Battle-Poem

 

 

 

Yah!

 

We charge into battle

 

Swords raised,

 

Bows at hand,

 

Axes ready to destroy.

 

 

 

We thirst for blood

 

Blood of our enemies.

 

We will win today

 

By the might of our King.

The orcs rush toward

 

Our assembled army.

 

They don't know it

 

But this is not all

 

Of the Elves.

 

 

 

I draw my bow

 

Three more arrows in the dirt

 

"Aim and fire," the commander says

 

I pick my target and shoot.

 

 

 

The orc falls dead

 

My arrow through his shoulder

 

A gap in his armor.

Nearby

 

I see the orcs approach our elven allies.

 

I want to help

 

But my conscience says to wait.

 

 

 

And so I wait

 

Sword drawn, in hand

 

Itching to fight.

Reminds me of the battles in World of Warcraft between the Orcs and Night Elves (did you base it off that?)

Lol no... I was just randomly thinking about orcs being evil and elves being cool. The verse with 'alliance with the elves' is meant to be the humans... possibly the dwarves. Maybe it was in my subconscience at the time... :o

Orcs are always in battle with Elves.Story is,that Orcs were once the beautiful ones,favored by the Gods.But then the Elves with their magic and all impressed the Gods,making the favor shift to them,and the Orcs haven't forgiven them since...Damn that would make a good poem =P

The routine contiunes

The ref blows the whistle;

Time for the face off.

 

They line up.

Soon a breakaway

 

Comes to me.

 

I stand; challenging,

 

and block the shot.

 

 

 

I throw it back quickly,

 

The refs call it anyway.

 

I grumble and prepare...

 

 

 

For next to me

Really, though Breaking Dawn is freaking awesome. You should also read The Host, Stephanie Meyer wrote that to. Both really good. I can't wait for Midnight sun to actually come out.
