Sup! There used to be a lot of text in this post, but since after getting the "all skills above 50" and such goals, I kinda quit playing. To quote my last addition to this blog on August 23rd last year..

Then this while doing a task, yey :) It actually felt like it went really fast. I got 97 in the last update post and I've been in school all week too, so 99 shouldn't be that bad either. If I can keep my spirits up and not quit(again).

No one probably cares, but the reason I quit was because I went to China all of a sudden. It was kind of a quick decision. I wanted to go, next day I called my landlord to move out, 2 days after that it was empty and cleaned and a week later I was on a plane to China thinking "what the hell just happened?". I was in a city called Wuhan in mid-eastern China, on the shores of the Yangtze river.. It's a sort of an industrial city, 10 million people and all that, but there's really no tourism to speak off. I saw 2-3 westerners there during my entire stay. Anyway, I came back early January and my priorities had sort of shifted, so I didn't feel like playing RS anymore. I was over there to study a game called WeiQi(Go in english, Baduk in korean, Igo in Japanese) in case anyones ever heard of it. Doubtful.

 

 

 

All in all, it was a great life experience to someone that had only left Finland to visit Russia, Sweden, Estonia, Germany and Spain before. And I didn't stay in some fancy hotel or a resort or anything either, I lived on a real student campus with about 7 trillion chinese students. The house was a real dump for anyone thats used to western living. No heating, windows are there just for show so they don't keep the cold out, bed without a matress and all that fancy stuff. But it was fun nonetheless.

 

 

 

So umm yeah, blah blah eh?

 

 

 

Where was I.. Oh yeah, bored. So I decided to finish this 99 attack deal; just didn't feel right leaving it to 98. So here ya go! To all you 5 people that read my blog over the few months I played last year!

I did about 600k exp today and yesterday, wanted to finish it quick. Was kind of pushing on my back when I wasn't playing, "C'mon now, finish it!" and all that.

This was on 20.2.2004, so one might say I was a little bit slow with getting the cloak trimmed finally. Though, I'm switching to the attack one now. Seriously, WHO decided to make the str cloak green and red? Who thought those would look good together? ><

 

 

 

And on the way to the 99, hit this bump on the road too

I don't know if I'm gonna keep playing now. I was thinking I might get 99 def/hp too, but mehh... Setting up goals hasn't worked for me too well, they pressure me too much and then I quit #-o But I'll probably just keep doing slayer tasks and set the weapon on defensive and see how it goes. I'll update here if I do keep going, in case someone accidentally stumbles here.

For easy farming I would recommend doing trees. That way you can just pay the farmer and check back a few hours later or even the next day. (I hated standing around at farming patches lol)

 

Right now you can only do oak trees but at 27 you can fill up your fruit tree patched with apple trees as well.

Looked up trees a little, how often are you supposed to do the "check health" thing? Seems that's the only way of getting exp from them.

Is there some sort of a bug with farming? Sometimes I can make the 4 patch run, watering each and the next ones waiting for me when I tele, but like right now, it's been over 20 minutes and none of them, except for the flowers in the middle, are not growing, the water stays below them... Extremely annoying, waste of laws -.-

The farming's not too bad in the end.. Started at 24 yesterday and have 40 now. Although it can be a bit annoying at times, seems the timers aren't all that precise. Says willow is 220 minutes and herbs 70 minutes.. I planted them at 11PM last night and checked both at 3AM, neither was ready to be picked/check healthe'd, took a nap and woke up at 4:30 AM, being sure I could replant them now... Couldn't. Both were still growing -.- They weren't ready untill about 12 hours after being planted.

Farming is progressing nice and steady, although the tree prices just went up a LOT with maples :thumbdown: I just can't resist paying extra to get exp easier heh

 

 

 

So, I'm reaching the limits of bird-hunting.. I should probably move onto other things. Could someone give me a little hint on this? I did birds up to here because it's so very simple, lay trap and get exp. I don't know how all them other traps really work.. Baits and stuff?

Hunting got a lot faster once I figured out the deadfall traps. Went from 26 to 42 in about 2 hours. I'll probably just do that same stuff till 50, it's not that bad even if theres some better way. RC is whats dreading me.. I counted I need to make around 11,000 fire runes to get to 50 >_< And I never bothered to figure out that abyss stuff and the pouches, so I'll just do the good 'ol Dueling Ring rounds with al kharid fire altar.

Well, I got a bit sidetracked when I noticed my cash reserves twindling(damn you tree seeds!). Might not be the best or surest way to make money, but I decided to try to solo Bandos. I've watched many videos and read a bunch of guides, I have the gear and levels to do it, so I'll give it a go. Did this quest for trollheim teleport, next I'm gonna do some FoG for dragon gloves and then ecto 75 dragon bones for 60 prayer so I can use the combo prayer.

Got dragon gloves from FoG, that was fairly easy really, paired with some 50s that I basically 1 hit with a dds spec o.o

I did this for the exp lamps actually o.O That got me 30 runecrafting, this was in preparation for doing "one small favour", from which I'll be able to put 10k xp into a skill above 30, so that's why. And also for the teleport, I was thinking I might get air runecraft gloves and do air runes with the cabbage port later.

I was going to start "One Small Favour" after that ring deal, but I read the guide and it said the exp lamps can't be banked. So I would've had to use them then and there.. And since I'm going to get 9 runecraft levels from them, it would've put me straight at 1604 = No picture of 1600 :l .. So I decided to get herblore up to 60 since it was going to be nice and even at the same time with 1600 and I already had lots of ranarrs from farming. Yey for me, the all above 60 doesn't seem that daunting anymore, really. Except for RC and Summoning.. Those I won't enjoy if I do try to go for it :l

So, graz to me for using my brains heh.. I mentioned in the last post that I postponed "One Small Favour" because of the exp lamps taking my RC up and over 1600 total.. Well, I didn't take into account it was 2 lamps and using 1 actually put me to 35 RC, and so that would've put me at 1600 :P Oh well, not a big loss. The quest was "relaxed", just took everything for the quest out before setting off, and moved through it. Unlike some quests where you are forced to constantly bank and/or go back and forth between hard to reach places -.-

 

 

 

Anyway, I'm going to be doing King's Ransom now when I have time. After that I'll hopefully be ready for some Bandos action finally. And then I'll fail horribly and end up losing millions :thumbup:

Can I just take some time here to say.. HUH? That's it? O.o After doing these "Medium" rated quests that took hours and some were very tedious and annoying.. I thought a quest rated as "hard" would be, well, hard.. It took me around 20 minutes to do this. Oh well.

Pretty ok reward considering the time it took heh. Well, now I have all that I need for some Bandos attempts I suppose. Just need to gather my courage and it's go time! ::'

What the heck? Was he updated or something and all those video guides are out-dated? I got there easy and got the 40 KC at the hobgoblins.. But I nearly died while running to the final door, I was getting absolutely blasted with huge numbers all over me eventhough I WAS protecting? As all the videos just show them walking to the final door undamaged and not having 200 things slaughtering them, sipping potions in peace and walking in.. I wasn't prepared for this at all, couldn't drink potions just went in. I get hit by massive amounts of damage eventhough I'm geared with like 400 ranged defence, protecting from melee, took a super pot, had chivalry on... All I could do was eat eat eat eat eat eat eat. I ate 17 sharks while getting ONE hit on him and then teleported out.

 

 

 

I don't get it. What did I miss? I mean there's a video of some guy soloing him wearing full bronze. Ugh... Really annoying..

 

 

 

EDIT: Went again, this time getting to the final door with a bit less damage, though still alot more than the videos show.. Anyway, I was potted up now prayers running.. Started just fine, 30, 33 on him and after that, downhill. The damage is just absolutely massive, I mean it is impossible for me to get more than a single hit in between eating. At "best" I was at 19 hp and several times at KO range, 20-35.. It just seems impossible, honestly. There's nothing else I can improve in short term =/

EDIT: 3rd try. It went a lot better, there was like a 20 second(woah) row of not taking dmg, but at the same time, I hit nothing but 0s for over a minute. Absolutely painful place, I don't understand how those videos of killing him in under 30 seconds and whatnot are possible. I got him to about 1/3rd before I had to port out, though I do have to admit that towards the end I made a nearly grave mistake. I was only watching my HP and forgot prayer, it ran out and I went down to below 20hp several times before stabilizing it. It was too late though, I was so low on food and hitting nothing but 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 all the time.

I actually wasn't getting even hit that bad now, I went through entire prayer pot + 1 from the other one, compared to last ones not even using up 1. But... What was I doing to him? 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0. You might get the idea? I have 95 base attack, super potted, prayered up and I cannot for the life of me hit him. I've spent a crapload of money on this now and I haven't even gotten 1 single kill yet, and the hilt is what, 1/150? At this rate I'd pay more than the hilts worth to get that many kills, if I ever even get 1. I just don't get what's wrong.

After the frustrations with Mr. Graardor, I decided to go back to doing my original goals for now, untill I figure out how people make money these days. The money I have left now is all residual from back when barrows was new and very profitable if you were able to do it quick and efficient. I got myself full guthans and 30 something million gp(a lot of that went into going from 50->76 smithign) + accessories from it(whip, zerker, fury etc.), but now I've even sold the guthans and I'm dipping below 2 million soon >< I reaaaly don't want to do the manual labour stuff, mining/fishing.. Those were never my thing ever since I got out of the situation where I never had any money and HAD TO fish or mine to get anywhere.. Ugh, I suppose I'll figure something out.

 

 

 

In the mean time, on a more positive note, I finished another goal:

It was, as I suspected, the most boring one yet. But at least just before I bought the runecrafting gloves and started doing that, I stumbled upon Body Tiaras.. Made 2k of those and voilá.. More expensive, yes, but I can't stand RC :wall: This leaves me with summoning.. I was thinking about doing slayer on the side, although I don't really like slayer.. I like the "old way", going to a place and training untill I fall asleep, not being forced to kill 2067 low lvl banshees and then 2751 black dragons. Meh.. We'll see.

But as you can see from the inventory, I'm collecting charms to get that 50 summoning and finish this 50+ deal. Though, since looking at the summoning skill calculator and then comparing how many charms I got during these hours... Well I started looking for quests that I could do to skip a couple of levels heh. I found some with exp lamps and I'm going to do some of those, so that I won't need like 1,8k crimsons or whatever silly number it was ><

I decided to do the faery quests to get the ring accesses and the exp lamp for summoning x) I was going to do some other quests that give exp lamps, but they require me to do other ones as well and I was tired of that, so I just did these:

Man the shards get expensive! I think I spent around 500k on these levels >_> I counted that I need about 300 crimson shards now to get to 50(and a few green ones, but by collecting 300 crimsons I'll get those on the side). I'll do attack 96 at some point and collect more shards.

Charm collecting is SLOW, how come so many people have high summoning o.O? I'll probably get 97 attack before I have the charms I need and that's just 50 summoning :-#

Not much of an update, really :(

 

 

 

I started school again yesterday(I've been out of school for 3,5 years before now) and it has kept me a bit distracted/occupied so I haven't logged on much aside from ranarr rounds(and they are turning on me, 2 dead out of 4 so many times now ><). I hope to be able to get in a little playtime this weekend though, maybe go for that 97 attack and a finishing touch on the summoning. But now to sleep! -.-
