Naive
So I'm interested in tanking with a team. I'd like to know what an ideal setup would be with my levels (in the signature) Invo, equipment, anything would help. It was suggested to me to use guthans, which I have, but I'd still like opinions. Ignore the avatar, it lies. I have 68 summoning. green9090
Obviously bring along a loaded up terrorbird and a couple of bunyips. You needn't worry about summoning potion, because super restores now restore summoning points. Also bring Verac's helm, Karil's top and Verac's skirt. For everything else, you should be able to figure it out. Best stuff you're willing/can afford to take. Guthans is quite a risk, but if you're willing to take it, go for it. I don't know if it would be better to replace Verac's parts or not- the prayer bonus is nice. Definitely take the Karil's top though, the mage minion kills. Naive
The suggestion about Guthans was to get Graar's attention then just attack one of the minions to heal constantly. Is this wise? And wouldn't a loaded tortoise be better? green9090
That strategy would work. I'm unfamiliar with it though. I forgot what level tortoises are and thought you couldn't use one, sorry. toast647
Definitely take the Karil's top though, the mage minion kills. He's going to be in a team. You should be worrying about Graar's range more than the minis mage attack. Try this: Tab, hammer, 8 super restores, 15 brews, 2 bunyips Bring a terrorbird loaded with sharks, and one prayer potion. Try this: Torag's helm/Neitizot helm Torag's Plate/Karils top Torag's Legs Fury/Glory Dragon boots/Bandos boots Godsword/Whip and DFS/obby shield/granite shield Explorers ring/Ring of life God cape/skill cape/fire cape Barrows gloves Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool

And wouldn't a loaded tortoise be better? After you hit graar, and your team mates attack him, after a couple hits, they will focus on someone attacking them, if you aren't attacking him. green9090
He's going to be in a team. You should be worrying about Graar's range more than the minis mage attack. I strongly disagree unless he's not attacking Graardor. The mage attack needs some form of defense against it or it will wear on the tank, it's almost as bad as the range attack otherwise. toast647
I'd rather not get ripped by his range than take some damage from the mage. He said he's tanking, and you need maximum range defence. Come to #tip-it on Swift IRC, if you're cool
Naive
I didn't know Graar refocuses if he isn't attacked by the one he's attacking, I always thought he focused on one player until he died. These are great suggestions, although I'll bring a tortoise with sharks and a ppot. Keep piling on the details though, it's all really appreciated. J35u5_M4
if you're tanking, melee pray with the best range def u can get (bandos + dfs)u wont get pwnt too much by mage since u'll be on a team, and everybody will take damage, inv for tanker is mainly brews, don't know exactly as for normal member of team (non tank) k top, v hlem n skirt, warr ring, fury, achiev cape t, b gloves, d boots, range pray and heal when needed take a fruit bat if not tankin and 4+ people, they are great, ull need a knife for bat, if u cant summon yet, use the tbird/tortoise loaded with sharks/brews and sup rests/p pots
TheHummingbird
I have done many Bandos (and Armadyl) trips and heres what I can say. The Guthans tanking method works well, as you stand in full guth, hit Graar, run south in short steps (so he keeps attention on you) and eventually reach the mage to heal on him. Once Graar is dead, you would go north to attack the ranger, and tell your team to stay off it so you can heal. Most Guthan's tankers also carry an SGS which is used for some more hp/pray =) (yes i've tried tanking at 74 def before =p) Also on the familiars side, fruit bat isn't a good choice, for food just have your team feed you (or they're a bad team : ). I would suggest in this order, Unicorn > (Fire/Moss/Ice) Titan > Bunyip > and lastly, which is better than nothing, the Void Spinner. You want to bring one tortise full of brews and restores, and when thats used up summon one of healing famliars listed above. 99 Range on 08/25/08!Solo Arma Hilt on 12/06/08! The mage only attacks whoever is attacking Graardor, and if you are only attacking the mage, you will not be targeted.. I had a large team last many hours with a single tank (this method) at Bandos, which got us a Tasset and Chest split in a single trip.. ~Zackdt
compfreak847
Guthans tank is by far the best. Bring wind strike to get Graador on you when he spawns, then attack the mage minion while Graador is being killed. After he dies, if you still need health, have your team keep off the range minion until you've healed sufficiently on him. With a good tank and 5 man team, this method can last for well over 100 kills. With a titan (before 88 summoning), I managed 28 kills with a 5 man team on 3 brew doses. Obviously we got far more food drops then that! With a stallion, one could easily get several hundred kills. Drops: 1x Draconic Visage, 56x Abyssal Whip, 5x Demon Head, D Drops: 37, Barrows Drops: 43, DK Drops: 29GWD drops: 14,000x Bars, 1x Armadyl Hilt, 2x Armadyl Skirt, 4x Sara Sword, 1x Saradomin Hilt, 8x Bandos Hilt, 8x Bandos Platebody, 9x Bandos Tassets, 4x Bandos Boots, 43x Godsword Shard, 82x Dragon BootsDry streak records: Saradomin 412 kills Bandos 988 kills Spirit Mages 633 kills - Slayer Sucks
