Ring of Wealth?

Featured Replies

Is using a ring of wealth a good idea? I've read some articles and some people have said that it actually decreases rare drops because it increases drops of other, worse items. Also, the thing with the two roulettles released by Jagex confuses me. I've also heard that it doesn't affect the drop rate of Dragon items. Can anyone clear this up for me?

dont believe people that try to debunk jagex' statements, most of them are just angry about bad luck (most of the times they just dont kill enough and expect visage after 100 steel kills, aka noobs). Ring of wealth works, even though you will never see any proof of this.

the thing with the roullette wheel is confusing. but someone explained it to me once.

basically theirs the roullette wheel for getting rare drops, and to spin for a rare drop on that roullette wheel you need to get the right number on the first wheel. what the ring of wealth does, as explained by jagex, is the ring of wealth makes it more common to get the right number to spin for a rare drop on the first wheel. it doesnt affect the second roullette wheel, it just makes it more common to be able to spin the second one. you could say the same thing but with dice, lets say you have two dice. you need to roll a 6 with the first die to be able to roll for another 6 on the other die, the ring of wealth would improve your chances of getting the six the first time, making it so you roll for a 6 again more commonly. thats what the ring of wealth does to my understanding.

lmao, thats exactly what ring of wealth DOESN'T do!

it doesnt affect the number on the first wheel, but once youve reached the right number on the first wheel it will reduce the amount of empty spots on the second wheel, and hence makes the chance of getting a rare all the greater.

in short: row only affects the second wheel, it doesnt do anything for normal drops or getting on the second wheel

i just thought it was funny that you got it exactly the other way around, heres the official quote, its not hard to understand:

[hide=]I see that many people in this world hath conflicting and contrary ideas as to how the ring of wealth may help them.

Allow me to set this straight once and for all.

1) If thou consider the possessions of an enemy to be like a roulette wheel, then the 'rare' items so coveted by players are located on a second roulette wheel, that will only be spun shouldst thou roll a specific number on the first wheel.

The ring of wealth affects not the number which thou may achieve upon the first wheel, but should thou gain the precise number to allow thee access to the second, the ring will make thy chances of gaining an object on that second roulette wheel all the greater.

My analogy is flawed, for death is not like roulette, but I hope that thou see the truth within this.[/hide]

i must have read it wrong too, because i remembered it the other way around. but it`s kinda tough to understand with all the thou`s and thee`s.

[hide=easier to read quote]If you consider the drops of an enemy to be like a roulette wheel, then the 'rare' items so much wanted by players are located on a second roulette wheel, that will only be spun should you roll a specific number on the first wheel.

K guys.. I made a lil picture oN paint showing what ring of wealth does:

ringofwealtsp5.png

ok in condensed english

Baisically the ring of wealth means if u get onto the second wheel which will have blanks and items, the chance of an item is increased.

so if ur hunting for a "rare" item from a monster (as deemed by jagex) wear it.

either way wear it unless the monster has no interesting rare drop, where u should wield a stat boosting ring.

also note that ring of wealth does not affect drops when lootsharing or coinsharing

Current goal: 94 mage (85).

and english isnt even my first language =p

I know this is off-topic, but what is your first language?

...

And for the rest of you, the Ring of Wealth makes rares drop more often. That's all you need to hear. O_o

So, basically Earthysun is Jesus's only son.
