I have a nVidia Geforce 7350 LE, which is suppose to have only 128mb of RAM to it.

So why does it show over 1gig of memory? Is it drawing memory from my system RAM, or something? How would I go about disabling this...?

 

 

 

Also, would I have to disconnect my video card to show if there's any integrated graphics memory or whatever on the motherboard that could be contributing to this, even though having like 900mb+ of integrated graphics memory isn't really a normal thing...?

I'm also wondering if this is the reason why images are loading so slowly on browsers, and the icons in the actual O/S itself...But this is besides what my main question is. Like the folder icons, image previews of images in my folders, desktop icons, program images (like for background images in programs are black until they load...) all load slowly now for some reason, I was thinking this was an adware problem or something but that seems to not be the case, oh well this is off-topic.

I reinstalled the drivers and the memory went up by about 3mb :lol:

 

It doesn't seem to be an issue, just a weird fluke :/

I think its the approximate memory that can be used by the GPU to store Textures etc. by using your RAM

It's using a Nvidia technology called turbocache. What it does is borrow system ram to use as well as its own ram for better performance in graphically intensive things like texture rendering. ATI cards also use similar technology, call HyperMemory.

It might be but that doesnt explain Errdoth's 8800GTS using 2654mb when its actually 640mb, on dxdiag it says I have 1275mb of approx. total memory when my 3870 is supposed to have 512 so the extra I assume is from the RAM that is used when the GPU RAM is full.

It does actually explain why. Like I said, the graphics card borrows system memory, and dxdaig is reading the graphics card using its own ram AND system ram combined.

Correct. That's why Nvidia's the best.

How? ATI have the same technology and their new cards are destroying the GTX 200s in price/performance ratio.
