Alright so i need help, im currently going for 99 mage :ohnoes: oh noes. So im wondering whats the most effective way to mage and break even/or profit from it :). so here goes my thoughts and you can tell me what you think is the best or if you have a new one youd like to share!

 

 

 

1) metals: everybody swears by it, but ive killed probably 1k and only ever gotten a dskirt :?

 

2) Green Dragons: I tried this one, its actually nice money but very slow seeing how jam packed it is!

 

3) avansies: Never tried maging these, ive ranged and it was ok but i think green dragons is better profit

 

3) barrows: Very slow!!! but perhaps the best rewards :-#

 

4) DK Rex: Slower then barrows but the best money

 

5) you tell me ;)

 

 

 

my questions:

 

 

 

1: which one would you pick and why

 

2: have you done one of them long enough to give me a good estimate of the time spent to go thru 1k casts

 

3: have any better ways of doing it?

 

4: if your a pro at one of those (or another) give me your personal favorite setup

Kill rex and get 10m. Buy bursts. Use bursts at rock lobbies.

clever :P but im cheap buddy otherwise i would do that, i want to get half way to 99 before bursting.

Get 70 agility (if already aren't) and kill the taverly dungeon blue drags using the 70 agility pipe. Use fire bolt with guants and bank using fally tele, then run back and repeat.

You haven't considered fletching, runecrafting and then alching have you?

 

yews 400, ess 150, bowstring 160 = 710 > alch > 756 = profit!

 

 

 

If all those are the same prices as when I did it.

 

Its very slow but it is guarenteed some profit and trains other skills at the same time.

 

Also there's less of a dying risk.

 

I guess its about getting the right compromise between speed and profit though.

i like toasts idea, i forgot about the 70 agil shortcut. and as for making all the supplies to alch... :wall: i need the 99 mage fairly quickly? and i need hp xp so alching is 100% out of the question :/

Um yes I've done quite alot of maging, but I actually can't estimate it.

Guthix cape, full guthans, fury, void mace, DFS, infinity boots, barrows gloves, ring of wealth

I'd say 500-1k casts.

 

 

 

Edit: Maging Rex is faster exp then barrows.

Maging DK rex is faster than barrows.. coz u getting 4.66 xp per hit, not 4...

so maging rex on weekends and then bursting lobs on weekdays sound good?

 

 

 

 

 

also heres one of my master schemes... blood bursting rex? you think youll break even or even make some profit?

 

(blood bursting heals you and damages rex if you didnt know)
